Recap:
"Goodnight, Harry."
harry
I arise from bed feeling empty and vulnerable. I take a look around at my surroundings and I realize that I'm in my own room. I peek any which way of this minuscule scope which is my room. And everything comes flooding back in my mind.
My father. The accident. His condition. Bee. Mum and Gemma. Mittens. Ariana.
I scramble through my clothes, placing some used ones from the other day on, not even bothering. As long as I could go and visit my father once more.
I shuffle in my drawer, looking for my keys, holding onto them as I semi-jog towards my car, getting in and immediately pulling out the driveway to make my way towards the hospital who is holding my father captive in their care.
I rub my nose, as I take a brief moment to look at myself in the rear view mirror. I looked like a mess, but that wasn't something I cared about at the moment.
I rushed inside my father's room to see mum asleep on the spare chair and Gemma on the floor, her head rested upon the arm of the stool. I sigh, my footsteps drawing near her as I pick her up, dragging a chair by my foot, being as quite as I can before sitting her on it.
I sit on the floor beside my father's bed, my hand taking his as I sigh out. "Please wake up, dad."
My phone rang after I had said those words. I had seen it was from Bee. I picked it up as I answer shakily.
"Hey.."
"Look, Harry. I didn't mean to tick you off yesterday, I'm really sorry. Please do forgive me for what I had done."
"It's okay, Bee. I'm just not feeling very well and I didn't take the situation properly."
"No, Harry, I totally get it. I would be the same if my dad was in critical condition. Just, stay strong for me, yeah?"
"I'll try.."
"Oh, um, Ariana wants to talk to you. Just hold on."
I heard small scuffles on the other line, before I had finally heard her voice.
"Hi, Harry. Are you doing better?"
"Um, not so but I'd like to thank you for yesterday."
"It's alright. I wasn't used to seeing you without your bright smile and your squinty eyes. You just seemed like you were always happy and I was really surprised to see you at that state. I'm happy you're doing better."
"Thank you, Ariana. Is it alright if you.. and also Bee, maybe visited? Gemma and mum are asleep and I need company."
"We'll try. The problem is, the hospital is very far from here and we don't have a car. But we'll try and hail a taxi, okay?"
"Oh no, it's fine. I can come and fetch you both, okay? Just wait there."
I hung up even before she could answer. They had no choice but to wait for me. I made sure to leave a kiss on both of mum and Gemma's foreheads before leaving shortly.
The car ride was short and quiet, I had arrived at the coffee shop quicker than I thought I would have arrived.
I saw Ariana talking to a lady, the lady who I had seen before, Cathrina I think was her name. Ariana seemed to have noticed I was there since she had waved goodbye at Cathrina before grabbing onto Bee's arm.
They get in my vehicle, Ariana and Bee giving me a reassuring hug as they sat down. They were saying things to me, different comforting and relieving words but I hadn't seemed to listen. I was caught up in my own little world, just staring at the road while I drove my way towards the hospital.
They had seemingly noted my lack of interest as they had stopped speaking about it.
I parked by the driveway, Ariana and Bee right behind me as we entered the hospital doors.
Whilst being there, I was sat beside my dad with Gemma and mum on the other side. I bit down on my lower lip to prevent myself from letting out more sobs.
"Harry, it's okay not to be okay.", I had heard Ariana tell me. I looked behind my shoulder, giving her a small smile before turning my attention back to my father.
"The thing is.. I was supposed to be with him. We were supposed to be hanging out together but I had cancelled last minute. It's because I didn't know, we all don't know or think that the last time is the last time. You think there will be more to come but you don't have that time. I just can't stop thinking that maybe this was my fault."
"Harry, it's not your fault. Maybe you were busy, really. It was the fault of that man who had crashed on your father's car."
"It's not like that, Ariana! I just..", I set my head on my hands, shaking my head as I attempt to cool off of my short state of anger. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to break out like that."
"It's alright..", I felt her hand rest on my shoulder, her thumb drawing little patterns on my clothed skin.
I admit, I was being unfair. Calling Ariana and Bee over for company but paying less attention to them. I was stuck between wanting them to leave and giving me my space and time alone with my father and longing for them to stay and give me a sense of peacefulness.
The things I had done while the time passed was stay by my father's side with Ariana and Bee behind me. I saw the pity in their face, the sadness that were shown in their eyes. They were sorry for me. But I didn't want them to see me like this. I didn't want them to see me at my liable and exposed self but it was too late for that, wasn't it?
It was getting really late. I had told Ariana and Bee that I would drive them home if they'd like but Ariana had convinced for me to go ahead and that Emily would just give them a ride. I didn't seem to feel the need to argue so I had said goodbye. Ariana was the only one present while I had told my farewells because Bee was busy off somewhere in the hospital.
third person's view
Harry had left the hospital but Ariana and Bee had decided to stay a little while longer in the hospital. Bee was somewhere talking to Emily about what was going on whilst Ariana had stayed in the room of Harry's father.
Apparently, Anne and Gemma had decided to go grab some dinner because they haven't eaten breakfast nor lunch while being there.
Ariana sat herself on the chair beside the bed of Harry's dad, Robin. Her little, dainty hand placed atop of his cold hands as she looks at him.
"Hey, Mr. Styles. You look a lot like your son. I see he gets his looks from you, I mean, he gets it from Anne too, she's beautiful but I see you and I see Harry. I know that you don't know me, well unless your son, Harry, here talks about me.", A short laugh escape her lips before she continues on. "But you are his everything, Harry's whole world. I've never seen him like this, I'm just used to him being happy. It would mean a lot to him if you woke up because right now he's doubting himself, saying it's his fault.", she spoke softly, her thumb running along his knuckles.
"I know I just met him, but he means a lot to me too, he's one of the only people I've got and I would appreciate it if you woke up, for him."
