Jessie's P.O.V

I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the toilet. The whole house was dark and the only light was from the TV and a single light that had been left on in the kitchen. I looked across at Sienna sleeping peacefully on the other end of the sofa. She seemed like such a nice girl, it was a shame she was stuck living with my asshole of a brother and probably had a massive crush on him too. Every one of my friends did, so I just assumed she did too. Don't get me wrong I love my brother, but I know he doesn't treat girls with respect, and that Chelsie was already old news to him. I couldn't break it to her though, it'd break her heart. I try to leave the heart breaking to Ryan.

Sienna's P.O.V

I woke up the next morning to Jessie making bacon and eggs. Quincey was still fast asleep on the couch so I decided I would get up and help Jessie.

"Good morning! How do you like your eggs?" Jessie beamed at me.

"Good morning, um scrambled is great but whatever you're having is good." I said, to be polite of course. As always.

"Scrambled it is then!"

I helped set up plates and cutlery to keep myself busy. I didn't want to come across as rude. After I was done I got a minute to check my phone. I had a text from my mother. I decided to just open it.

From : Mom
Dinner was wonderful last night! So sorry I'm busy the rest of the week, maybe you could stop by where I'm working? There's lots of young people here that you could make friends with!x

I knew what she was doing, the young people at her office were people that she approved of, so that's why she wanted me to be friends with them. They were probably well connected and well off too. Usually people like that were incredibly stuck up and people I didn't get along with. I winced at the thought of having to converse with lots of spoilt brats.

To : Mom
Dinner was lovely, thank you so much. And I'm actually making friends just fine. I stayed at Ryan's sisters' house last night, her name is Jessie and we're getting along great. If I'm not busy I'll try and stop by.

I wasn't going to have her under the illusion I needed help making friends. I was just fine on my own.

Just as soon as breakfast was ready, Quincey got up from her slumber.

"Good morning sleepy head! Breakfast is served!" Jessie smiled.

Quincey smiled back. Still half asleep. She sat down at the table quietly, still adjusting to the light.

We are breakfast at the bar and chatted a bit too. Jessie explained the plan for the day.

"So, after breakfast we can both get dressed and Quincey has work today so she'll have to get going pretty soon. So me and you can get a cab back to yours because I need to talk to Ryan."

I nodded, I didn't want to pry so I didn't ask what she wanted to talk about. But she had a very serious look on her face when she said it, so I knew it was very important and she wasn't just going over to talk about the weather.

We finished breakfast and I helped Jessie clean up. Quincey got ready for work quickly and sped off.

"Bye guys, got to fly! Hopefully I'll see you soon Sienna."

I smiled and waved and said "Of course!" I secretly hoped it would actually happen, because I needed to prove to my mother that I was fine just on my own and I didn't need to be spoon fed.

Jessie went off into her room to get ready and she let me go into Quincey's so I could change. I didn't bother bringing anything fancy since I didn't plan on going anywhere but home. I had some gym leggings and a baggy white tee. I threw my hair up into a bun since it was very frizzy because I had slept on it without tying it up.

I went into the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. After I was ready I waited for Jessie in the sitting room. She came out of her room also wearing gym gear. I was glad she didn't dress up.

"Oh hey, we match!" She said happily and she grabbed her keys and headed out.

We caught a cab pretty quickly and headed back to mine. The elevator had been fixed so we rode it to my floor. I took out my keys and and unlocked the door. Jessie and I shuffled inside.

We had come at the worst possible time. Chelsie and Ryan were standing across the room yelling at once another. Jessie and I stood frozen, not knowing what to do.

"How could you do this to me? After all I've done for you? I can't believe I thought I was going to get somewhere with you. You're absolute filth, Ryan Lancaster!" Chelsie screamed. Ryan wasn't paying much attention to what she was saying. He stayed ultra calm and simply said

"I think it's time for you to leave Chelsie, we don't want to make a scene now, do we?"

Chelsie turned dark red. She threw her hands up in the air and stormed right out past us. She slammed the door on the way out. I stood with my mouth open for a minute or two, until Ryan laughed and said "You'll catch flies like that, Sienna." And my mouth shut abruptly.

Ryan wandered off into his room, not a care in the world.

Jessie turned to me "He does this all the time, girl after girl, it doesn't even phase him anymore." She rolled her eyes, clearly sick of having to explain her brother to everyone, and probably having her brother screw over every girl in his eyeline.

She followed him into his room and I decided to hide away in mine. I decided I would straighten my hair a bit so it didn't look as wild. I took it out of its bun and let it fly loosely around my face and neck. It was pretty long, almost elbow length, but I didn't want to cut it.

I straightened it out and then decided to check my emails. I scrolled mindlessly through my inbox, not really looking at any of my messages.

Then there was a soft knock on my door. "Come in." I said, not getting up. Jessie came and smiled at me.

"Hoe would you feel about bringing a broken hearted girl a chick flick and some ice cream?" She said, a look of hope in her eyes.

"Sounds like something I'd be up for!" I exclaimed. It couldn't hurt to make another friend, right? Even if that friend was my roommates ex girlfriend. Beggars can't be choosers I guess.
