Sienna's P.O.V
The four of us got a taxi into the downtown area where there was a multitude of clubs to choose from. We hopped out when we got to a street with a big club on it, with a queue going half way down the street.
I reached in front to pay the taxi man before the other girls could. I felt like I needed to contribute something to the night, and this was the easiest thing.
The four of us walked right past the queue to the top where the bouncer was."Chelsie Summers plus three, if you don't mind." Chelsie informs the bouncer. She was a well known person, because of her rich stepfather, who ran various bars around the city. Connections get you everywhere around here.
The bouncer lifted the red velvet rope to let us in. "Right this way, ladies."
We got into the dark club, it was lit up by fluorescent lights that flashed brightly all around us. We made our way over to the bar for drinks.
Jessie ordered us a round of shots. We all downed them at the same time.
"Thank you all so much for coming tonight! It really means so much to me!" Chelsie yelled over the loud music. We probably were the last people she would have expected to come through for her after her breakup. Her ex's sister and his roommate. And also Quincey, who worked selling clothes and perfume to people like us.
We ordered some fruity drinks and then headed over to a booth to sit down. The club was pretty full, but all the faces looked vaguely familiar from photos my mother had shown me of her and my father's colleagues and friends children - people she wanted me to associate with.
Jessie bopped lightly to the music and Chelsie typed furiously on her phone. I sipped my drink contently and decided that I should check my phone too.
I had three new messages.
From : Mom
Hey sweetie! Have fun tonight, try not to go too wild, I'll lodge some more money into your account in the morning in case you need it xFrom : Paige Valencia
You look so fab! Tell me what partying in NYC is like! I WANT ALL THE DEETS.From : Ryan Hale
Hey, if you're out late tonight I'll leave the door unlocked for you. Tell Jessie I said hey too for me?"Come on, Sienna!" Jessie grabbed my arm and pulled me out of my seat. She pulled us both towards the dance floor and beckoned for Chelsie and Quincey to follow. I saw Chelsie get up to come over but soon after I had been dragged into the centre of the dance floor and was surrounded by people bopping to the music.
"Make room for me!" Chelsie squished in beside us. Quincey was no where to be seen. I'm sure she was okay, she didn't have that much to drink so she still had her wits about her.
She swayed to the music together, laughing as we bumped into the strangers around us. Chelsie was smiling properly, the same way as she did the fist time we met, back in my apartment. It was nice to see she was actually happy.
We danced for a bit until Jessie complained her shoe was giving her a blister. We decided to shuffle over to the bar for more drinks. The place was crowded so Chelsie grabbed both of our wrists so we could all stay together.
It didn't work though, by the time we reached the bar, it was just Chelsie and I and Jessie was no where to be seen.
"Crap! Where did she go?" Chelsie shouted over the music. I shrugged.
"We must have lost her in the crowd." I shouted back. She nodded. The line of communication was not very strong so this was the best we could do.
We decided to just order drinks for ourselves and sit by the bar in hopes either Jessie or Quincey would show up. Or both of them.
"How do you like New York so far?" Chelsie initiated another shouted conversation.
"It's nice, it's so different from my hometown though! I haven't travelled around much yet, but I want to see Brooklyn and Lake Placid. I've only seen a little bit of Manhatton." I shouted back, not really bothering to stop myself from rambling.
"Oh! I love Brooklyn! We should take a trip down there someday, it's a lot of fun and there's so much to see!" Chelsie planned something else for us to do. Which meant that we were going to be friends, and I was happy about that, because I didn't know when else I would get the chance to make friends here.
"Sounds like a great idea!" I smiled back at her.
Suddenly, Quincey burst out from the crowd and shuffled up to get beside us, slightly out of breath.
"Woah, I tried to go to the bathroom and the queue was so long! I'm literally only done now!" She yelled, wiping pretend swear off her brow. Chelsie and I both laughed.
Quincey ordered herself a drink too and filled us in on her traumatic bathroom experience.
After she was done Chelsie asked "Have you seen Jessie at all?"
"No, I thought she was with you guys?"
"She was, but we lost her in the crowd! Should I ring her and see?" Chelsie asked. Quincey informed her it was almost two a.m, which meant the DJ set was ending soon and the club was going to start to close up, so we should wait and call her then she could hear it and so could we.
We bopped in out seats and chatted some more. Eventually the DJ announced he was about to play his last song, so we all got up to enjoy it.
We danced on the dance floor again, and my feet were killing me from wearing my heels.
"Hey you guys!" Jessie piped up all of a sudden, towards the end up the song.
"Oh my god, Jessie! Where were you?" Chelsie asked.
"I....uh....I bumped into someone I knew, and we lost track of time...." It wasn't like Jessie not to have something to say, clearly something was going on.
Then Quincey piped up. "Jessie doesn't like to kiss and tell." She said and Jessie giggled. Chelsie and I just looked at one another as if to say "Oh really?", we knew we would get it out of her tomorrow.
We hailed a cab outside the club and went back to Chelsie's. We weren't supposed to stay but we were all a bit too tipsy and also tired to attempt getting home so Chelsie lent us some pyjamas and gave us some blankets so we could sleep on her couch. She decided she would sleep out here with us too.
As soon as my head hit the pillow I fell asleep. I was so tired, but I was also quite happy. I felt like I had become friends with all of the girls now. And that was a good thing.
