Sienna's P.O.V

When I got home the delivery man had come with the box and was waiting in the lobby for me. He said he would take it upstairs if I paid him extra.

So the delivery man and I made our way up the stairs, since the lift was being repaired. I could hear him huffing and puffing the whole way up, because the box was heavy. It was a lot more than he'd bargained for.

"H-h-here you go-" he panted heavily "madam"

I made sure to thank him thoroughly for what he had done and I paid him forty five dollars because I felt bad. He walked down the stairs a bit happier. I felt slightly better then.

I opened the door using my free hand and hoped that I could hold the box with the other one without it falling. I began opening the door but the box started to slip. I realised I would have to hold it with both hands or else I would drop it. So I held it in my arms and opened the door handle with my elbow, I decided to kick it open and run inside so that it would shut after me. So I jammed my foot in the bit I had opened with my elbow and..... I kicked with all of my force. I never realised how heavy the door was, but it flew open anyway and I ran inside.

I let out a breath I must've been holding the whole time and sat the box on the table, finally inside. I spun around to lock the door and...

"AHHHHHHH!" I screamed as I saw a body lying on the floor beside the door.

The body stirred a little. I gasped and put my hand over my mouth. What had I done?

I rushed over to the body. It started to murmur, it was a he.

"Ow." He said, lifting his head a little, eyes still closed.

He fluttered one eye open and gasped. I didn't know what that was meant to mean. He continued to rise from the floor. And I noticed blood trickling out of his nose.

"I'm going to get you some cloth for your nose, stay here." I exclaimed, so panicked.

I ran to the sink and grabbed the first cloth I could see. It was a little damp but it'd do the job just fine.

He was a little more alert when I came back, so I knew I hadn't hit him that hard.

"GOD I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to hit you with the door!" I said apologetically. What a great way to meet my new roommate, by knocking him unconscious.

He chuckled "Nice to meet you too, by the way, I'm Ryan."

"Hi, I'm Sienna." I said, turning into myself, since I was embarrassed.

"You have a strong kick, Sienna." He said laughing, and I laughed nervously too.

I helped him up off the ground and he walked over to the sofa. The whole apartment was open plan, except the bedrooms and bathrooms so it wasn't too big of struggle.

I carried the heavy box into my room and breathed another sigh of relief. I seemed to be doing that a lot lately. I began to unpack the stuff but I was shivering from being in a cold sweat since I was so panicked I had caused my new roommate brain damage. I was beyond embarrassed, I wanted to never come out of my room again. It was only two p.m though, so I couldn't possibly spend the whole day in here, I'd get nothing done.

I decided to go for a nice quick shower, so that I would finally stop shivering. I grabbed a towel from my wardrobe and put my hair back into a bun. I walked across the hall into the bathroom.

After my shower I returned to my room and got into some sweatpants and a little top since I was boiling hot now. I quickly dried my hair. I decided to keep the box for later since I wasn't really in the mood to unpack, I had four days before my mother came and as long as I was unpacked by the time she came here, everything would be okay.

I opened up my laptop and checked my phone, I had a message from Paige.

From : Peyton Valencia
How's the new place going? Meet your roommate yet? ;)

I made a mental note to reply to that message later.

I decided it would be a good idea to check my e-mail. I logged into my account and I had 67 e-mails in my inbox. I hadn't checked it in a while. Most of the e-mails were from online subscriptions, but there was one from the company I was starting an internship with in a week's time. The e-mail basically said after a month of internship if they liked me I would be able to have a job there for a year. Which was great news. It was so exciting. It was with a prestigious magazine company, and even though I'd probably only be getting coffee for people for the first while, I hoped to become an editor there, or someone that oversees designs and models for the magazine. That'd be my dream job.

I was so happy, and so I sat there smiling at my screen for almost an hour until I heard the door slam, Ryan had gone out. I wasn't sure if that was the best idea considering he could possibly be concussed, but I didn't know him very well so I didn't want to make too much fuss. After all we were only roommates, we didn't have to be friends.
