Sienna's P.O.V

A tipsy Ryan made his way past the reception area and into the sitting room and kitchen areas. He got closer and I could hear him coming into the hallway. Suddenly, there was a knock on my door.

"Sienna?" He called out.

"Yeah?" I answered back, unsure.

He opened the door and came into my dimly lit room from the dark hallway.

"Uh... Thanks for leaving the door open, and uh... I swear I'm really nice, and uh... I hope we can be friends, maybe, I mean, if you want?" He said and gave me a smile, he was clearly very drunk so he probably won't remember this in the morning. I didn't know what to say so there was a moment of silence and he picked up on it.

"Oh I'm sorry, I'll go now, so you can sleep, goodnight Sienna."

"Goodnight, Ryan." I said as he shut the door.

I heard him stumble down the hallway and his footsteps echoed the whole way down. He slammed his door a few seconds later.

I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

--------

I spent Friday shopping for an outfit to wear on Saturday night, because I didn't have any party clothes with me. Heck, I didn't have any party clothes in general. Where I'm from, there wasn't any clubs so there's no place to go partying.

I settled on buying a black mesh dress with a black under slip and some heels with a fluffy strap across the toe. I paid way too much for them but as soon as my mother heard news of my going out, with two girls from rich families, I woke up to two thousand more dollars in my account, and a text message from my mother telling me I better buy something nice and treat my friends to a drink.

The amount of money in my account was starting to make me anxious, I didn't know what to do with it all. At the start, when I spent almost half of my allowance every month on books and clothes, it wasn't so bad. But for the past year I've been trying to be independent so the money only got spent on essential things and gifts for my parents and siblings. And now it's built up and odds are I'll not need to spend it ever again, since my internship was paid, not much mind you, but considering I didn't have to pay rent, it was enough to live off of. So what do I do with the money? It'd feel wrong to spend it, but I know my mother would just keep lodging more and more in and sooner or later there was going to be too much to handle.

My mother never got on board with the whole independent thing. She wasn't very rich growing up, so she wanted to give her everything she never had. My older sister, Ophelia, still got allowances too, and she was twenty five, engaged and living in a house my parents bought for her. But every week she still got 1,500 dollars in her account even though she worked full time in my father's company and earned a salary that was more than half of my mother's and about one eighth of my father's. My mother wanted me to have enough money to buy whatever I wanted, and it annoyed her that I was doing the exact opposite. Just to get her off my back, I would buy things every now and again out of the money, but most of them were gifts for her, because I didn't know what else to get.

I lounged around for the afternoon on Saturday, and started to get ready at four o'clock. I sent Peyton a picture of my outfit and she sent back three heart eyed emoji's so I knew I had picked the right dress.

I jumped into the shower and blow dried my hair straight afterwards. I started to apply my makeup carefully, I was pretty decent at it, so I liked doing it myself. Back home, whenever there was a special family event my mother would hire a makeup artist for my sister and I, so I learnt a few tips and tricks from them.

After I was done I put my dress and shoes on, grabbed a black clutch from my wardrobe and put my phone and my purse into it. I came out of my room to see Ryan waiting by the toaster for some Pop tarts to be ready.

"Woah, it's like the roles have been reversed, eh?" He laughed. He probably knew I was going out with his sister and felt bad for me because her and Chelsie were my friends by default and I actually hadn't done any of the friend making myself.

I just smiled and grabbed my keys from the counter and made a bee line for the door.

"See ya, Sienna!" Ryan called after me.

I hailed a cab to Chelsie's and the traffic was really bad.

"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's a bad idea to get a cab at rush hour?" The taxi man said jokingly.

"Probably, but I wasn't listening!" I joked along with him. He was an Uber driver, so I felt safe enough to joke with him and know there was only a five percent chance he was absolutely mental and could possibly try and kidnap or murder me, or both, and I was ok with that minuscule possibility.

We chatted for a while until I finally reached Chelsie's and I payed him and said thank you. I pressed the buzzer and Chelsie let me in. I rode the elevator up to the ninth floor, her floor.

When I got there, Jessie and Quincey were already there, along with some guy I didn't know.

"Hey Sienna! You look stunning!" Chelsie beamed at me.

"So do you OMG!" I replied back. She was wearing a nude pink dress and some white heels with it. Her blonde hair was in a slick ponytail and you could see all the darker browns running through it, unlike my hair which was pretty much platinum.

"Oh, this is my step-brother, Brendon." Chelsie directed us toward each other.

"Nice to meet you." I said politely.

"You too." He smiled back.

He took off soon after as he was just there for a visit. But he was stuck in my head. Maybe I was just so naïve to think that he liked me. I mean he just smiled at me, and maybe I took that as something more.

He was cute. He had fluffy brown hair and deep dark eyes. If I had a type he would be it. He had a cute little smile and reminded me of a cute dog. He probably had a girlfriend already, and I was being ridiculous, not to mention desperate.

Chelsie pulled out some shot glasses from under her sink.

"Let's get this party started!' She yelled over-cheerfully. She clearly had a lot resting on this night, and I didn't blame her.

She filled each glass with straight vodka and added a squeeze of lemon to each. Simple, but she probably wasn't skilled at making drinks, she had people to do that for her.

She pushed the tiny glasses towards us, and I picked mine up and knocked it back. I just wanted to have fun tonight, I knew I had to stay somewhat respectful because I had my parent's reputation to uphold, and obviously the girls had their families' to too. I wanted to get rid of all the stress, have a laugh and not worry about boys, especially the one I lived with.
