It was a few days later and Kassidy was finally released from the hospital, doing much better. She had moved into the shelter, and much to her surprise, she actually liked living there. Kassidy was worried about living there because she was afraid the other girls would be mean and not accept her. But, she was wrong. They were just like her, and they too were victims of abuse. Everyone there knew exactly how she felt. Their hearts had been broken too...Kassidy would still continue going to school and working at her job. She hadn't went back to school or work yet, but that would continue this Thursday.

She was nervous about having to going back, she didn't want to face everybody. She knew they would talk about her, laugh at her, and ask hurtful questions. Just about everybody knew what she had done.

Wednesday Evening...

Kassidy sat on the bleachers at the football field, watching the team practice for their next big game tomorrow night. Mainly, she was watching Jake, he was the quarterback of the team. It was true that he was the best player on the team, it truly showed. It was like he had been playing football his whole life.

The reason she was here to talk to Jake. She had to apologize. She felt dirty. She felt as if she was no better than Kayla.

Also practicing at the field were the cheerleaders. Kayla was the cheer captain, but it seemed like all she did the whole time through practice was scream and holler at the other girls every time they made a little mistake. Kassidy could tell that the other girls were getting irritated with her; no matter how hard they tried, Kayla still yelled at them, like they were stupid and didn't know anything. The cheers that Kayla came up with were also very repetitive and dull, but every time someone stepped up and tried to change what cheer Kayla had came up with, she threatened to kick them off the team. It was Kayla's way or nobody's way.

She's going to make them all mad at her, and then the whole team will quit! Kassidy thought as she watched Kayla yelling at the whole team once again.

Suddenly out of nowhere, Dawn came up and sat down beside Kassidy on the bleachers.

"Dawn!" Kassidy said out of surprise at seeing her best friend, she hadn't seen her in awhile.

"Hey, Kassidy. How are you feeling today?"

"Um...Better actually." Kassidy then looked down at her shoes as she kicked her feet back and forth.

"So...How do you like living at the shelter?"

"It's great! Everyone there is real nice."

Dawn was overjoyed to hear that Kassidy was actually doing better and was happy since living at the shelter. It was a huge improvement compared to how she used to be. Maybe it was because she was finally away from her father? But still, Dawn could tell there were still some things troubling her.

"Dawn... I want to apologize for the hurtful things I said and did-"

"Kassidy, it's okay..." Dawn cut her off as he pulled Kassidy into a hug, "I'm just glad your away from him and safe now. I should be the one to apologize.. I lied to you... I didn't have to go to my sister's wedding, because I don't even have a sister! I lied so you would feel better about going to the party! I'm so sorry Kassidy! I shouldn't have made you go to that party!" Dawn then began to cry on Kassidy's shoulder, she felt horrible about the lies she told Kassidy that day, just so she would go to that stupid party. She was afraid that she was going to be angry at her.

"Hey, bestie...It's okay.." Kassidy tried her best to get Dawn to stop crying.

"To be honest, I kinda had a feeling you were lying to me, I mean you never said anything about you having a sister before."
