Jake listened to Kassidy as she told the story of her first day of school, and how she met Kayla. It broke his heart when she told him how Kayla and the other girls had made fun of her. Calling her fat, and making fun of how she was dressed and even her looks. The more Kassidy told what had took place all those years ago, the more he grew to dislike Kayla.

"She started making fun of you on your first day of school?" Jake was appalled.

"Yeah, we've always had a mutual hatred of each other." Kassidy grinned. Jake shook his head and chuckled.

They both sat in silence for a moment, until Kassidy crawled over to Jake. She wrapped a blanket around both of them, and then laid her head down on his chest. He wrapped one of his arms around her, holding her close to him as they gazed up at the glistening stars in the night sky. Everything was perfect, it was just the two of them. Neither of them wanted this night to end.

"That day wasn't all bad ya know." Kassidy looked over at Jake.

"Really? What else happened that day?"

"It was the day I met my best friend, Dawn."

Kassidy smiled to herself as she remembered the moment her and her best friend first met each other.

Kassidy was very embarrassed and hurt about being yelled at and made fun of by those mean girls. She wanted to get away from this stupid school, and she wanted to get away from everybody that was here. She hated it here! Especially those girls. Kassidy hated school, and she never wanted to come here again. All she wanted was to be with her parents again at home, not stuck in this dumb place where everyone made fun of her.

The tiny girl sat under a tree as she cried her heart out, unaware of a pair of green eyes watching her from afar.

"Hey. . .don't cry. . ."

Kassidy looked up to the sound of the voice and saw a little girl standing beside her. She smiled brightly, trying to cheer her up and get her to stop crying. All Kassidy did was give her a nasty glare before getting up and walking around to the other side of the tree to get away from her. She didn't want anybody bothering her, especially some random girl. All Kassidy wanted right now was to be left alone.

But her getting up and moving didn't stop the little girl, she followed her to the other side of the tree. She had to get her to stop crying, she didn't want her to cry anymore.

"Get away from me!"

Kassidy yelled at the girl when she seen that he had followed her. She was getting very mad at her, but she wouldn't give up. She still continue to talk to her.

"Why are you crying?"

The child then sat beside her under the tree and it annoyed her to no end. Kassidy moved away from her, but every time she moved away from her, she would just move closer to her. Can't she take a hint? She wanted to be left alone!

"Will you tell me why your crying?" the strange girl asked her.

"It's none of your business!" Kassidy snapped.

"I just want to be your friend. . .Please tell me why you're crying?"

She just wouldn't give up. She might as well just tell him, she wasn't going to give up until she did anyway.

"It's those stupid girls over there! They called me names!" Kassidy then pointed over to the mean leader and the group of girls, who were still sitting around in a circle.

"Well, I think you're very pretty." She said, smiling at her.

Kassidy looked over at the stranger with a shocked expression plastered on her face. Did she just say I was pretty?
