2 months later...

Jake and Kassidy became friends after their night together. They talked every morning in first hour, which left Mr. Kidwell amused.

He remembered what happened the first day of school, the fit Jake threw. Now, they were acting like old friends that hadn't seen each other in years. The teacher noticed a complete change in both students. Kassidy was happy and as healthy as ever. Her clothing was no longer sloppy. It even looked like she was wearing a little make up.

Jake seemed happy although he still had that smug smirk on his face. He didn't seem as cruel to the other students.

Kayla, on the other hand, was extremely jealous. She hated Kassidy and Jake being friends with each other. She became meaner to everyone, especially her minions. Karlie and Kylee were her punching bags now. Everyone noticed a change in all three of the populars.

Jake walked down the crowded hallway of the school, his green eyes searching everywhere for any sign of his beautiful blonde friend. He tried to avoid running into Kayla, and her two main jocks that she controlled. That's all he needed, for them NOT to bother him for once. All he wanted was to find Kassidy.Just as Jake thought that Kassidy wasn't going to show up at school today, he spotted her, walking down the hallway holding her books. Beside her was Dawn and two other girls, but Jake didn't know who they were. One was a full on makeup with her hair in a bun, and the other was extremely tall due to her heels. Jake figured they were friends of Kassidy's from the shelter.

All four of them seemed to be laughing about something as they walked together down the hall.

Just then, over the P.A. system, came Coach Carnage's voice announcing that the football team needed to meet in the library.

Jake wished he could have talked to Kassidy, but he had no choice. He headed to the library.

Meanwhile, Kassidy sat in the auditorium with Dawn, Kasie, Lilly, Marcy, and Randi. She smiled looking over to the band, Kaden and Bella were over there playing their instruments. Kaden on bass drum, and Bella on flute. The other 'bandies', as most of the student body called them, ignored her. Kassidy wanted to burst into laughter when she saw Kayla creep out from backstage with the huge black bruise under her left eye. After two months, it still hadn't went away!

The cheerleaders began their usual before pep rally dance routine. Kassidy looked over to the band and saw Kaden and Bella had stopped playing. The band ended their song and then football players walked in to the auditorium, receiving cheering, applause, and all kinds of other praise. Kassidy just stood there until she saw Jake, then, her heart leaped. She started cheering, shouting, and basically acting like a maniac.

"What are you doing?" Dawn raised an eyebrow to her friend.

"I, uh, don't know... I just got really happy all of a sudden" Kassidy replied back sheepishly. The cheer coach came onto the stage as the crowd of students sat down. The cheerleaders promptly exited to backstage.

"Hey, guys and gals, today we have a special treat for you. The cheerleaders have put together a skit..." The cheer coach's voice faded away as Kassidy pondered what this sketch could possibly be.

I hope they reenact Kayla's fall from glory... Kassidy thought as a smirk came across her face.

The cheer coach finished up whatever she was saying, (Kassidy really didn't care for her considering it was Kayla's step-mother), and the cheerleaders reappeared on stage. They were no longer in their uniforms, they were in their usual drag. All except for Kayla.

She wore a too small t-shirt with holes all in it. A dirty jacket, and holey jeans. The thing that made Kassidy the most uneasy was Kayla was wearing darker extensions in her hair; they same color of her own.
