Lost and Found

Explaining and Family

I wait until Mori and Honey are back to start explaining. "Ok, I need all of you to not speak until the story's done because I may lose my courage if I stop." I took a deep breath ad explained about my mom's cancer and what happened. I told them about the girls who were jealous because the most popular guy in our school liked me. Haruhi looked close to tears when I got the part of where my mom died and Kaoru looked ready to kill someone as I explained my dad's affairs. I also explained my Aunt.

It took an hour to explain everything, and I was close to tears, but I didn't let them fall. I haven't cried since my mom. Once I was done, Honey attacked me, crying like a baby. My tears started to fall as Haruhi hugged me and the others joined. Surprisingly, Mori also hugged me. I started crying. "It's ok. We'll be your family." Honey said.

"We love you." Haruhi said.

"Your allowed to come and stay at our house anytime you want." Hikaru and Kaoru said. I push everyone off of me. I brush my tears away and tilt my head and smile.

"It's ok. I'm over it. I don't want to go to anyone's house because I feel like I'm taking advance of you." I said, everyone opened their mouths, but I rushed on. "It makes me feel that way. No matter what anyone says, I will always feel that way. I like to work for things, and it doesn't bother me if I do everything on my own. I've done that all my life."

Kaoru grabbed me and hugged me. He brought his mouth to my ear. "Your job is to live. You can lean on our shoulders anytime you want. We're all here for you and don't let anyone tell you otherwise." I froze at his words. This I the first time anyone has told me this. Suddenly a memory emerged.

It was in the middle of my mothers 4 time around. We were in the hospital and she was telling me about her past. "I was just like you, Jay Bird. I always wanted to do everything on my own, but I couldn't handle it. I started taking everything out on my friends and they all left me. Then, it was my parents and family.

"After a while, they all left me too. Don't hold it in. You can rely on others and you should le them in. It may hurt when they leave you, but it's a good experience. They teach you something important. Do you know what that is?"

I shook my head. "Trust. They teach us to trust others. It was by luck that I met your father, but he was just as closed off as I was. Open up and let people in, Jay Bird or you will be alone and trust me, it's not fun."

Tears streamed own my face as I brought my arms up and wrapped them around Kaoru's waist. "Thank you." I whispered. He gave a soft laugh. Honey came over and hugged me.

"Hey, Jordan, do you want to come over and play at my house?" Honey asked. Mori stood behind him. I smiled and nodded, remembering my mom's words.

"Yeah, sure. I'd love to." I said.
