September 26, 2011: School Campus

“Well this is different.” JJ said as the group stand around the dead body. The team was led into the woods behind the Literature Building of the campus.

“This is Jordon Cain, a sophomore studying in Classical Literature. He transferred over to UGA this year from Kennesaw State to be closer to home. A couple of students were behind there smoking together after their class was dismissed when they discovered the body and reported to the police.” Hotch inform the team. In front of them was a body of Jordan Cain, still lying in a pool of his own blood.

“This doesn’t make any sense, all of the past victim were female and now the unsub killed a male. Maybe this isn’t about a type. Maybe it’s another reason.” Prentiss said as she looked around the crime scene.

“The body is fresh, couldn’t be no more than 3 hours old. And the weapon of choice is different. He used a knife this time but the stab is still the same. Once near the heart, missing, and other right at the heart. It’s probably a signature that has developed for himself. ” Reid said as he and examines the body.

“Damn it! We were just here on the campus. He must have used us as a diversion; he knew a lot of the students would be crowding around the crime scene so he took advantage of it. This dump site is on the opposite side of the lake were he usually leaves the body.” Morgan said. You can tell by his face that he was angry for letting this slip right under his nose.

“He knows the FBI is involved. Our appearances might have made him acted out.” Rossi said

“He’s also evolving rapidly. His first three kills were at night when the campus his clear. This time he killed in broad daylight.” JJ added on while looking around in the secluded wood.

"The unsub is also cautious. He knew a gun would be too loud and will attract people’s attention so he used a knife.”  Morgan continued.

“Okay, well got all the information we need for today. Everybody should turn in for tonight. Tomorrow will be a busy day. JJ, I want you and Morgan to visit the classes that the victims attend and talk to their classmates. Look for some familiar faces that keep showing up in those classes. Prentiss and Rossi with go talk to the family.” Hotch said, as the team member nodded their head and left.

“I remembered when I was in college, woke up at 7 everyday to go to class. Certainly don’t miss that.” JJ said with a smile as she and Morgan walked up the stairs to the first victim’s class.  Both agent hold a hot steamy cup of much needed coffee.

“Ha! I worked out my schedule so that my first class doesn’t state until 9:45.” Morgan said with a cheeky smile.

Both agents walked to the door and knock. From the other side the room seems quiet. But then again after four kills, the whole campus seems be in a silent panic and depression.

“Hello professor, I am Agent Jennifer Jareau and this is SSA Derek Morgan. We were hoping to talk to some of the student that interacts with Amanda Jones.” JJ greeted as she and Morgan shook the professor’s hand.

“Ah yes, such tragedy here, Amanda was such a good student.  Um, but you can speak to Jaylee Blunt. She and another student are usually the ones Amanda interacted with the most.” The professor said before pointing the two agents at the student sitting alone.

“Thank you.” JJ said before her and Morgan walks over to the student and asks to speak with her outside.
