Chapter 4 : The Tragic Story of the Nymph and The Centaur!
No! No! No! This can't be happening! She was my only hope! Now where will I get a new woman to help me with the curse! I banged on the tree, hoping that if I did, short potato would show up again.
"Oh my!" A soft and gentle voice surprised me and I jumped. I turned around to see who it was. "Sorry for frightening you like that, but you mustn't do that unless you wish not to live any longer." It was a dryad. Her wood-like skin looked rather alluring, like she was from the enchanted forest. Her emerald green hair was wavy and long like a vine. She wore a crown of leaves. Her eyes were brown as well. If she closed her eyes, I bet she would've camouflaged, except the fact that her biome isn't around here.
"Excuse me?" I asked. She did not know my situation and she dared tell me what to do? "If you keep--" I cut her off once more. "If heard you the first time, Dryad. Be gone, creature." I said in a menacing tone. "I was only trying to--" she started off. "Be gone, I say!" I pushed her away. She looked like was about to burst into tears. An arrow flew in front my my eyes. I looked to my right. A centaur of brown hair and light skin had appeared.
"You are lucky I had not shot you, you gnarly beast. Stay away from Calista or I will not miss the next time." I stepped a good five steps away from the dryad I now know as Calista. "Wait! Zoren, he may need our help. Does he not look or smell familiar, Zoren?" She asked. Zoren, the centaur replied, "he reeks of our missing young prince, Caspian. Might you be the one who had slaughtered the prince?" He said. An arrow was directed at my head, but not just any arrow, an enchanted arrow.
"No, he is I!" I said, trying to convince them that I am Caspian. "I was cursed by a witch." Zoren frowned at my response. Had I said something wrong? "Fool. Do you think I believe you? A witch is a woman of herbs and remedies. A sorceress is of a cauldron of death, someone with powerful dark magic that is capable of cursing or possessing a person. Prince Caspian would know this. You are a phony, this is another piece of evidence that you had brutally murdered him!" He let go of the arrow and it flew towards me so fast that I could not dodge. I closed my eyes and waited for the arrow to injure me, but to my surprise, when I opened my eyes, a bush of berries stood in front of me.
"Zoren!" Calista scolded him and looked at me apologetically. "So, what is a nymph and a centaur doing all the way over here? Should you not be in the realm of magic?" I asked, curious to why they were not home. They looked at each other and then looked down. "If you tell us why you are banging on the Devouring Devil and why you say you are Caspian, we will tell you why we are not in the realm." Zoren said. I nodded, "Very well. I was banging on the tree because a merchant's assistant that I had met had been devoured. Also, I really am Prince Caspian. I was certain it was a witch. I entered a herb and remedies shop in town. The woman there was told me which herbs where which. She also told me that she would give me a potion that sparkled. It was the color of pink. So, I was foolish to believe that the potion could enhance my chances into having the Princess of Dezmon at least give me a chance to prove myself worthy of her." I looked down shamefully as they gave me an understanding look.
"I see." Zoren said. He turned to Calista and asked, "do you think it is possible if we can use only just a bit of the purification powder on him, just to see if he really is Prince Caspian?" Calista gave a small nod and held out her hand. Green powder was on her palm. She faced me and blew it in my face. I blinked multiple times to get the powder out of my eyes. To my surprise, it did not hurt my eyes one bit. Zoren and Calista gasped as I stood there in confusion. "What just happened?" I asked, unsure to why they blew powder on me."
"Allow me to explain, the purification powder can see through dark magic. If a sorceress or sorcerer were to use an invisibility spell, the purification powder can easily stop the spell. Although, there is a catch. If the spell it too powerful, it will only last 5 minutes. I suppose around 2 or 3 minutes has passed. Now that we know you are truly Prince Caspian, we are more comfortable in helping you and telling you our story." Calista said. She started telling me why they were not at home.
"Home is not an option for Zoren and I. As you know, our kind despises mixed species. Zoren and I, we were childhood friends. The best of friends, really. Our care for each other grew and grew as the years went on. As we got older, our friendship turned into a different relationship. One that involved love. Zoren and I told our parents and they were beyond furious. They told us that we were not allowed to be around each other anymore, and if they caught us, they would bring us to the elders and have us banned. We did as told but somehow, we could not stay away from each other for so long. We got caught by Zoren's mother. She screamed and Zoren's father arrived faster than you could say please. Zoren's father was a man you should not meddle with. He was powerful and on top of that, he was one of the strongest centaurs around. So, when he saw us together, he was more than beyond furious. He dragged Zoren away and he yelled at him to pack his bag. Next, he called over my parents and the elders. My parents rushed over here, threw a couple bags at me and the elders looked at us disapprovingly. I remember the words that my grandmother had said that day. She said, 'You have brought shame to this family. Never return or I will have your head.' After that, we went on and we paid the consequences." Calista was in tears and Zoren was comforting her.
"As for your friend, Prince Caspian, there is no saving her from a Devouring Devil. If we do not save her before the moon is high in the middle of the sky, she will have become a part of the Devouring Devil." Zoren said. No. That can't be. I need her to help me out of this curse.
"I can hear it. Her screams of pain as she so desperately tries to hang on to life, as she so desperately tries to break free. I can hear her, yelling, calling out to me. Help. Help. Please, someone help! Can you hear me? Help!

Fantasía"Give it back, you thief!" I reached for my small leather bag that held my enchanted jewelry. He smirked and chuckled. "Well, little potato, if you want it back so much, why don't you get it?" The criminal said. I threw my hands up in frustration. "...
