Chapter 7 - Nica and Leo

Corona bowed down, "Kolten, I've returned." She greeted him. This Kolten person sat on a throne of gold. Two pixie women sat on the marble floor next to his throne. They wore chains on their legs and they tried so hard to cover it uo. One had a swollen cheek while the other had cuts on her wrists. "Corona, my prized possession, what have you brought for me today?" He looked over to me and squinted. "Kolten, I'd like to have permission to use your magic books and serendipity potions." She asked, grabbing his attention.

"Why should I? Tell me, is there a reason?" Like a fish, she opened her mouth and closed it, not saying anything. She looked down. "Tch, can't even talk to me. Why did I let you become a soldier? You're a useless slave. Maybe I should've sold you to him that day. You know, his offer is still standing." Sell? Slave?

"Please, no." She begged. It was a sight I could not stand to see. "Who are you?" I spoke up, his attention was on me now. There was a sickening smile on his face. "He finally talks." His voice alone was frightening, but to me, it was nothing.

He stood from his throne. "If you must know, I am the Lord of this village. Now, I'd like to know why you have barged into my home with no permission."

"Trade." He raised his eyebrows, shocked at what I said. Honestly, I was shocked myself. I had no idea why I said that. "I want to trade with you. I need some magic books, serendipity potions, and I'll buy Corona. I'll give you a satchel filled with enchanted jewelry." He smirked. "Only Corona. Enchanted jewelry doesn't cost much around here." I nodded. It'll have to do. I'll just have to find another way.

I gave him the satchel and walked out. Corona followed. "Why did you do that? I'm not useful to you." She said angrily. "Pixies know magic, right? I still believe you can help." I looked around trying to find an appropriate place to turn back into my normal size. In pixie size, the village doesn't look so happy. Slaves and soldiers were everywhere. The windows in every house were barricaded. There weren't any children to be seen.

"Some pixies also have horrible memory! That's why I need the books." She said angrily. At that moment, I could see into her. She was alone. She was used to being called useless, like she wasn't valuable to this world. She wasn't used to being cared for. To her, it was either protect yourself or die. No one would feel like that.

"Then, we'll figure something out, because I still think you will be a great asset in my and my friend's journey." I said. Her wings began to flutter, and instead of a shimmering silver dust tracing the strange pixie language letters on her wings, a shimmering gold dust was on one side and on the other was silver.

I backed away, fearing that someone bad will happen if I am too near her. She closed her ruby red eyes and a few short seconds later, she opened them and her red eyes disappeared. Her eyes were all white.

"Some pixies at the town square is talking about the latest news in the Kingdom of Dezmon. The King was poisoned, the Princess is missing, and the Queen was brutally murdered. It was announced three hours ago that there is a new ruler. It is said that he is pure evil. They're saying that he is a sorcerer. This sorcerer told us all that it was he who killed both the King and the Queen. He also stated that he drove the Princess out of her own kingdom. Everyone is saying that Ruon is doing nothing about this. Ruon is still focusing on their 'missing prince.' They're calling Ruon a bunch of jerks and the Dezmon Princess is a coward." Her wings stopped fluttering, her eyes turned back to normal. She smiled at me as I stared at her in complete shock. I opened my mouth to ask her how she did that but she shot me a glance that screamed, don't even do it.
