Monsters turned out to be just trees

For a long time, i felt as if i was falling but i never hit the ground. I couldn't tell how long this went and i didn't know where i was. I couldn't sense or feel Pan or anything for that matter. So, when i finally felt my feet touch ground, i knew i had to be somewhere, in a place were everything started. Gazing around was nothing but darkness and it was cold. I could only hear myself think and my heart beat. I wasn't afraid that someone would take hold of me here but more afraid of not knowing where i was. Was i just here out of spirit? If so, where's my body? Surely i didn't die. That would be too easy for Pan. 

"Pan" I yelled out to the dark abyss around me. No answer. 

I desperately looked around still seeing darkness when a thought occurred. Maybe I'm under some sort of sleeping spell. That had to be it since i was the only one here. I tried my best to calm down and focus on my surroundings. I felt this world start to spin slowly around me as i suddenly felt myself on top of something hard. Felt like a rock actually. Sensing around me, i could feel Pan coming closer at a fast speed that i jumped from my spot and ran into a force field. I inhaled and exhaled as i spun around to meet Pan and his sinister smirk.

"I must admit, I didn't think you would wake from the sleeping curse on your own since no one's done it before. Which makes me wonder how you can deflect my spells." Pan said as he paced in front of me. 

We had some distance between each other in what looked like a part of the forest in StoryBrooke. I glanced around to find something i could protect myself with. C'mon, there has to be a stick somewhere. I saw something shine in front of me but when i actually looked up, Pan had a dagger in his hand as he twirled it around his left hand. I took one small step back and hit the force field behind me. I gasped in pain has may hand burned from the touch. So, it's one of those fields.

"Be careful Katherine, wouldn't want you to burn yourself." He smirked as he took a step closer to me. 

With each step he took to me, i side stepped him. 

"If you want me dead Pan, just do it." He laughed at this and smiled more.

"Do you really think i want someone as powerful as you dead? We're alike Katherine, you and I." He pointed out by pointing the dagger at me. I couldn't help but glance down at it with each time he swung it.

"But apparently, I'm much worse." I commented under my breath as i gracefully stepped over a tree trunk on the ground. 

"You still want to kill me like the others do? Don't you want to understand why i do things? Because, i want to understand why you want to die so badly. " 

"You said you and I were alike Pan, so maybe you already should understand that. You want to understand me, then you can go to Klaus. He is the reason I am who i say i am. He is the reason i ran for over 500 years, protecting myself, killing others i screwed over, being feared by everyone, becoming the monster who stands in front of you." It was out of my mouth before i could even stop myself. 

Pausing for a few minutes to catch my breath, i turned my head away from Pan, trying to figure out how i can escape from him, but found no answer as i heard him let out a laugh.

"There is no escape from fate Katherine. As for the time we have left in here, i want to ask you about your past life. Makes our little situation more interesting." He said as he raised a brow and sat down on a boulder behind him. 

What did he mean by the time we have left in here? As in the time until we both rip each other apart or did he just mean until the field drops? Following his lead, i sat down on a dry log and watched him with careful eyes. A question kept popping up in my head but i didn't want to ask it. He fiddled with the knife in his hand, not watching me at all for he kept his face towards the ground. Rolling my eyes, I couldn't believe i was about to ask it.
