Y/N's POV

You were working in a restaurant, bquite a fancy one for that mattter, to support your family. Your dad died when you were little and you knew how hard it was for your mum to work extra long hours just to keep your family fed.

One night, you were working as a usual waitress, serving people with a bright smile. You hear your name being called to serve a table and you rushed over there quickly.

You take your pen and notebook out before greeting the family,"Hi, I'm Y/n and I'll be your waitress for today, what would you like?"

You look up and see a man and a woman on one side of the table with a familiar boy sitting at the other.

"Y/N?" You heard the boy ask.

Beads of sweat formed on your forehead.

It had to be him. He was rich enough to afford all of this anyway.

You knew that voice anywhere, it was Jacob's.
He was one of the many people who bullied you in school because of how you dressed since you couldn't afford those fancy clothes everyone else wore. No one knew how hard your life actually was and working part time was one secret nobody knew about you.

You gulped visibly before replying,"Um..hey Jacob.."

He smirked evily.

"You never told me you were working at a place like this. In fact, you never told me you worked at all."

Your eyes widened as you realized what he meant.

"Jacob please don't tell anyone!"

"You two know each other?"His parents asked upon hearing your conversation.

"Yeah, you could say that," Jacob replied.

"Well how nice, could I take my order please?"

"Sure ma'am." Your replied to her as you tore your gaze away from Jacob.

"I would like the *insert food here*, that's all, thank you."

"Okay ma'am,nI'll just go and place your order now."

Before you left, nyou glanced one last time at Jacob, who threw you a mischievous wink before you left.

You shuddered at the thought of what might happen at school.

Will he tell them? Is he really that heartless? I hope he won't..

---

It was the moment of truth. You took in a huge gulp of air before entering the school, nyour worst nightmare.

You looked around and inspected what everyone was calling you.

No new names I got called, good so far.

As you reached your locker, you quickly grab my books but before you could get away to class, your locker door slams shut in your face, almost catching your fingers if you had not retreated them.

"What the hell?!" You yelled at the person.

As you look up from the ground, you see a smirking Jacob leaning against your lockers.

"Well look who's talking..Wouldn't want the whole school to know your little secret now, do we?"

You could feel your anger, that was bottled up for so long, rising.

"You know what, Jacob? Tell them what you want. I don't care anymore. I've got nothing to lose asides my dignity but at least I still have that intact unlike you and snobbish friends," You spat.

It felt good to stand up for yourself and walked away, satisfied, leaving a jaw-dropped Jacob behind.
