Car ride

Amanda's POV

"J-JACOB S-STO-P!"

Jacob and me were sitting at the backseats of the car, alone. My mom was driving us to a carnival that was an hour away from our house and we weren't even halfway there yet.

Great..

That's never a good thing. He would never let me just relax and listen to my music properly without getting interrupted every 5 seconds.

Don't get me wrong, he was my bestfriend and all, and I knew that he's just teasing me, but sometimes, it goes too far. This time, he was tickling me.

"JAC-COB,P-PLEASE ST-TOP,I'LL D-DO AN-YTHING Y-YOU WA-ANT,P-PLEASE!"

Oh God, why did I say that?

I look at Jacob, who seemed to have an evil smirk on his face.

Oh no.. What did I get myself into?

"Anything huh?" He stopped tickling me.

"Well, that's what I said.." I said with regret written all over my voice.

"Alright then, I want.."

Here it comes, brace yourself for whatever he's gonna throw at you..

"I want.. a kiss." He said, sort of blushing.

"What?" I sat there in disbelief, in a good way though.

I have had the biggest crush on him for 2 years now but I guess I got friendzoned and became his best friend.. until now.

Jacob's POV

Did I just say that? OH GOSH, I'M SUCH AN IDIOT.

I have had a crush on Amanda for a while now. I mean, I love her as a best friend and all but I thought we had a good connection and you know.. could've been more than friends.

Now it'll be awkward for me and and her everytime we see each other and I'll be living with 20 cats when I'm older and-

My train of thoughts were broken when Amanda turned me around and kissed me. Of course, I kissed back.

It felt.. amazing. Time kind of just, froze.

"Ahem."

OH YEAH, WE FORGOT HER MOM WAS THERE. NOW IT'S 10x MORE AWKWARD..

My cheeks turned more red than usual.
I pull away from her and just sat at one end of the car's backseat while she sat at the other end.

"I always knew you two liked each other, you were just afraid to show it," Her mom said.

She's quite wise for a mom.

I just realized that Amanda was my first kiss. I looked over at her, staring out the window with a look of sadness and regret in her face.

I took her hand and she looked at me with tears welling in her eyes. She was looking down now.

"I'm so sorry Jacob.. I didn't know what I was thinking, you probably really hate me now so I understand if you-"

"I don't hate you, I really like you and I have since we've first became friends.
I don't know why I said that in the first place, I'm sorry."

She looked up and stared into my eyes.
"You.. like me..?"

"Well, yeah, you could say that.."
I say, slowly running my hand through my hair.

"Me too.."

"Wait ,what?"

"Please don't be sorry, if you hadn't asked for a kiss, we wouldn't have realized we liked each other."

I didn't know what to say. I just hugged her and she hugged back.

I felt like we were gonna be friends for a long time..
