Ora woke up to her alarm blaring next to her ear. She hit the snooze button with great force and sat up in bed. The clock read 7 am. A large sigh came through Ora's chest as she got up and walked to her bathroom. She threw on her favorite video game brand t-shirt and black skinny jeans, combed her hair, and layered black eye liner around her eyes. As she laced up her high tops, she looked at her books peering out of her backpack, containing the homework she, once again, did not do.
"Ora, time to go!!" Her brother Thomas called as he twisted a pen through his fingers; standing next to James. Ora ran up the the stairs with her backpack still half unzipped.
"What time is it?"
"Almost 8 o'clock" Thomas replied.
"Hurry up, I have to get to school early ya know!"
"Hey, you were the one we were waiting on. And besides, you only want to get to school early so you can see Klaus." James explained.
"...so?" Ora pushed her way in between her brothers and out the door.
Ora jumped in the backseat of James's car behind her two older brothers. The interior was originally black, but the boys had caused it so much distress that it was now a faded grey color. They had also destroyed the shocks on the car so whenever it drove over the tiniest bump, the car would bounce front to back, endlessly. The neighbors hated the Style kids because every time they got in this car, the stereo volume would raise up to extremes, also the reasoning as to why one of the speakers in the car had blown out, ruining the bass system.

At school Ora headed straight for her locker to grab her books. She had a set route of the school that she would take just as an excuse to "run-in" to Klaus. Plus, considering it involved her walking up an extra set of stairs, it always helped to wake her up. She would take this route even though she would see Klaus in her first period: welding. This was pure luck to Ora because the age difference kept him and her from having classes together. She was a freshman and he was a junior, although the school year had only a week left. But today Ora could not take her usual route because she was going to be late for class.
Ora had her headphones in constantly, and that morning she was listening to a fast pace song, hoping that it would get her moving faster as she ran around the school avoiding the bell.
The bell rang right as she stepped foot inside her first period welding class. All eyes were on her and Ora felt her face flush. She sat down with force in her assigned seat next to Klaus.
"Hey, why are you late" Klaus whispered as the school announcements disturbed the class over the intercom system.
"Just one of those mornings I guess" Ora winked as she whispered back.
Ora examined how Klaus was dressed from her peripheral vision. He had on a loose band t-shirt, grey skinny jeans, and his usual black high tops. His hair was dark brown and especially feathery today. She always admired the irony of how they dressed a lot alike. And she thought to herself how he looked better than she did considering that they were basically wearing the same thing.
But her thought was finished as the welding teacher slammed a test on her and Klaus' joint desk. "Today we start finals!" The welding teacher announced to the classroom. He then, very slowly, shuffled over to his desk to read the newest issue of his favorite hunting magazine.
