As we stroll in Ollie never lets go of my hand, he's smiling from ear to eat as if he had won the lottery.
The diner was bustling with people that overflowed tables booths and occupied forgotten chairs. It was a warm cozy beautiful setting where you could see the delicate city beyond the glass windows.
We are then served and guided to our booth that sits in the corner away from the watchful eye of the public.
In our short but long journey the waitress continues to flirt with my obvious date. She is leaning close enough that I can smell her perfume that reeks from every inch of her body. Finally we arrive and are seated in the comfortable seats. Yet the waitress is still waving around her blond curls, that I would love to rip off her head and shove them where the sun don't shine. The waitress scurries along unaware of the daggers slicing through her back. Unspoken threats that hang in the air trail along behind her.
"I like you jealous, it's sexy." Ollie says smoothly as he wraps his arms around my shoulders for warmth.
"Who said I was jealous?"
"Well, either that face you are wearing is planning to kill someone or I don't know why I'm dating you." He chuckles.
"You didn't even care that she was flirting with you?" I burst out slicing each word with anger.
"Do you trust me?"
"Why are we having this discussion? Usually a man that says that means he is secretly seeing another person." I say in a suspicious tone.
"You've been watching too many drama program's lately. Nah, it's just you for me. Oh and that waitress of course, she knows what I like." He jokes clearly amused with his own jokes.
"Are you really joking about this serious situation?""What so this is a serious situation for you? I though it would be something like a nail getting chipped. Isn't that what all girls worry about."
"Well I'm not like all girls." I say innocently back on good terms.
"I know, that's why I like you." He kisses my forehead giving me a reassuring squeeze and all the tension leaves my body.
"Well you owe me a really delicious big pizza."
"Anything for you, my lady." Tipping his imaginary hat as he sits up straighter.
He motions the waitress over and orders chips (fries if you want to call them that) for a starters to the meal. We sit there munching away on our beautiful deep fried death traps as we just talk and tease.
"So what was your old town like?" Raising my eyebrow for interrogation mode.
Oliver tries stepping over the question with another."We should play a game."
"No way, me first!" I analyse him suddenly suspicious.
"We'll there isn't much to tell..." He brushes off.
A little star struck at his unmistakable sadness that filled the air. Wonder vibrated off of me signalling more questions. Ollie took the advantage and tried to set up his own conversation.
"You know that was wonderful writing you spoke at English today. True author."
Embarrassed and proud floods me.
"Awe thanks." My cheeks redden with discomfort. It was a nice feeling to know someone actually likes my writing."Anyway back to MY game." He emphasises on the word my as he chuckles away.
"Do I want to play it. Let me think. NO! I would rather eat." I tease.
Acting fake hurt he says."There will be prizes."
"Prizes!" I squeal with excitement. I receive annoyed glances from a posh couple, a booth over.
"This or That..."
"Wait hold up, how do you know this is like my favourite game?" I giggle."Really! See, I know you so well." He smiles in victory flexing his muscles to prove himself.
A giggle rises in my throat, and before you know it I'm laughing my head off so hard Oliver actually looked concerned.
"Woah, take a breath. I knew I was that funny and good looking, but I don't want my girl dying. Do you think this face will survive in prison??"
He look serious, but I could see his smile tugging at the side of his lips that reached his eyes immediately brightening them up.
Instead of calming me down, I continue with fits of laughter that's actually hurt my ribs with the contagious laughter.
Then with my sudden distraction, the posh couple descend shooting us annoyed glares. I stop to catch a breath and see Oliver watching me. We stare at each other for a moment, then we are in fits of laughter again clutching other belly's.
Once the manager gave us an warning look we able to control ourselves. Still with tears trickling down our cheeks with how much laughter we had performed.
"I love your laugh! It's crazy, and I like crazy!" He flirts.
"Is Oliver Rose using his skills to flirt with me?" I ask.
But as he was about to say a witty remark the waitress came over with a delicious looking pizza.
Pepperoni and other bits were sprinkled everywhere, covered with all sorts of cheese melted. My mouth watered just looking at it.
Taking a satisfying swallow I smile my award winning show stopper pearls.
"It seems you enjoy pizza more than me!" He gives me a disbelieving look.
I don't reply instead just give him a wink and continue on with my love for food!
After we finished the gorgeous pizzas Ollie waved the waitress over with the bill. She strutted her way over flicking her hair. When she handed the bill to Ollie she slipped her number in with the papers making it a little too obvious.
Ollie continue to hold my eyes. The waitress looks a bit hurt so hurriedly takes the order money and leaves.
"Here do you want her number? You could get together and chat about me like how the do on the bachelor."
"You watch the bachelor?"
"Nah my mum used to be big on it." He said saddening the moment.
