Chapter 02

[Author's POV]

A few days later after the incident.

Yerin keeps on going to work as usual. She thinks that she should find one more job since she got fired but since school going to start soon, she decided to just work at Clothes shop and Mini Mart at the night. But something unexpected happened on her way to home.

[ Yerin's POV ]

It's 10:00pm right now. Its time to go back home and get some rest. Today I feel so tired and exhausted because there are so many customers at Clothes shop and that's because today is a promotion day of our shop so of course many people would come.

But luckily the mini mart didn't have that much customers so I can relax a bit.

" I'm going home now. Work hard Mindong ah~ " I told one of my co-worker that continues working on the midnight shift as I walked out of the mart.

" Alright and be careful on your way back home. " he said then I give him a quick nods before leaving the mart.

There aren't many people around here today. Why is it so silent compared to everyday?

I have been walking for a while and then suddenly I can hear footsteps following me at the back, but when I turn back and look around, I saw no one. I continue to walk but speed it up as I heard those footsteps getting faster too. And then someone suddenly grab my hand from the back. I immediately look at back and I saw a few guys that looks just like a gangster and also the one that grab my hand as well.

" What the heck are you doing? GO AWAY FROM ME. " I screamed at them as I try to escape from his grip.

" You look so lonely~ I come here to accompany you baby girl." One of those brat said. Without hesitate, I kick the guy that stand infront of me and hit another one with my bag.

" Bro! Are you alright? " another brat asked the one that just fell because of my kick.

" Bring that girl! " that brat shout.

But seems like I can't fight against them anymore since I was alone. So I started to run away as fast as I can.

" PLEASE HELP ME!! PLEASE HELP ME!! " I shouted as I keeps on running. Seriously!! Why no one even here?? Where the heck are those people who were walking around here yesterday?!!

" Stop right there you bitch!! " those brat who chasing me shout from the back.

My legs is getting weak and I feel like I'm going to die at the moment because of exhaustion. When I'm going to turn to the left way suddenly there's someone who suddenly jumps in front of me. He pulls me at his side and push me on the wall.

" Get away from me! " I said as I tried to get out. Then he covers my mouth with one of his hand when I'm about to shout at him again and another hand put on the wall beside me. He getting closer and closer to me to the point that I can feel his warm breath on my cheek.

" Shut up and stay still if you don't want those man found you. " he whispered and I just freeze there. Staying still.

Few seconds later I heard those footsteps coming toward us but suddenly stop. I tried to lower my head as low as possible to avoid them.

" Wow keep it up man. " I heard those brat said with a chuckle and obviously he said that to the man that standing so close to me right now. " Go to that way she might turn to the right already! " Another brat told their gang and then run away to the right side.

Pft, I thought you all are better than this, stupid brats.

Well, I'm still in shock but managed to look up and observe his face. He has a deep black pair of eyes, his nose just as straight as those stars on a tv and his deep brown brown hair that almost cover his eyes. He's so tall compared to a potato like me. I admit that he is a good looking man.

After a while when those running footsteps are nowhere to be heard of, he releases me from him grip.

" See? They're gone already. " he said then shrugged.

" Uh, B-because I thought you're one of them too.. " I said.

" Whatever. Just take a taxi back home if you don't want them to found you again. " that guy said as he look at me.

" It's okay they're gone already I will just walk faster to home. This place is not that far from my home too . " I said as I look around the area.

" Don't be stupid. What if there's no one going to help you again? " He said " Come here I'll call a taxi for you." He pulls me with him and then calling a taxi. Not long after, there's a taxi stopping in front of us, the one he called earlier I supposed.

" But- "

" Get in. Or you don't have any money with you now? I'll pay then. " he asked.

" No it's not like that! "

" Okay then just go. " he push me softly but in forceful way into the taxi and close the door.

" Hey I didn't get to thank you yet! " I tried to open the door once again but suddenly stop as I saw him walking away already.

" Seriously this guy.. " I mumbled.

" Where are you going, young lady? " the middle age man who is a driver turn around and asked me. I told him the address and he began to drive.

The only thing that I regret is that I can't even say Thank you to him and one more thing that I secretly regret of is that I didn't even get to ask his name.

How am I supposed to repay his kindness back?

" Did something happened, young lady? I heard that you didn't get to thank him yet. " the driver ask me and chuckle a bit.

" Umm yes. He helped me earlier. " I answered. " I didn't even get to know his name.. " I mumbled once again.

" Don't worry, believe me, everything happened for a reason. I bet that you will meet him again someday, somewhere. " He said with a smile on his face but he still focus on the street.

" Haha I don't think so. It's just a coincidence. " I bursted out laughing.

" It's up to your thinking then, young lady. " he replied.

I just smile and the silent remains until I got home. I payed him money before get out from taxi and walk quickly into my house. Grandma already standing at the doorway, waiting for me.

" What took you so long yerin-ah? " grandma asked me with her worried expression. She have been worrying about me all the time.

" Sorry grandma, my phone out of battery that's why I didn't inform you. My friend asked me to accompany her to the book shop that's why I'm late than usual.. " I grinned. I decided to not tell her the truth at the moment because I don't want her to worry about me again and again.

" Book? For the new semester right? How about you? Did you bought it? " She asked.

" Not yet hehe " I said. " Ah I'm going to eat dinner now I'm so hungry~~ " I quickly walk toward the dinner table to prevent her from asking me about school. " Grandma you should sleep now I can eat here alone too. " I continue.

" Okay I'll go now. Eat well and rest well okay? " she said as she pats my head and I give her a nod back.

When I finished my late dinner and washed the dish, I started taking a shower and after I came out from the bathroom with my pajamas that I wore, I finally throw myself on my bed, my best place.

" Finally girl, finally. " I talked to myself. I tried to close my eyes and get some sleep as well but I still can't fall asleep.

I think too much about money and school. A part of me want to continue my study but my father's health is before everything. Do I have to give up on my study?
