Pulling him from the rubble of his own making, I stare at him in absolute wonderment. However, he was not gazing at me with the quintessence of love and happiness: trust me when I say there's nothing lacking in his affections, though. They man-hugged each other and for some reason I feel tears slid down my cheek, like witnessing two best friends reunite after a horrific event ripped them apart. The air shifted then as if blistering heat transformed into frigid icicles preparing for snow. Raging demons blasted down our door, itching for a confrontation we'd be entirely too happy to grant. Man, I really wish my blade was with me! No sooner had that thought throbbed inside like a memory forgotten, the crimson weapon appeared magically and adjusted itself to how I would normally hold it. Abnormally glittering like a light-saber it was set ablaze as if flames were inhabiting its core. Joining the slew of demons engaged in battle, something inexplicable occurred right then: the blade flew out of my secure hands and straight into a demon's heart, setting the grotesque creature on fire. Catapulting across their bodies like an expert killer, the super-blade tore at each demon's heart, slow; like just killing with fast precision wasn't enough.
One by one, they were all in flames, their desperate and dying screams the only thing left behind. Once it was done, my blade returned to me, securing itself within hands that would've dropped it from shock. Our gazes locked on the beautiful crimson blade, thoughts echoing each other: What. The. Hell?

We exited that narrow room together and went into an even thinner corridor lined with peculiar statues of Carolina, the woman from the cave where I met Braiden and Noah. Upon setting my sights on her again, I felt such a keen kinship so potent I stepped back, stared, and touched it. "Savannah, no! Not yet, pretty. Your mind is a force to be reckoned with, but you're in no shape to obtain that form of information," Lucian pulled me back against his body, preventing any contact with the seemingly harmless statue. While Michael trailed behind us, he added: "Lucien's right, Sav. All we are attempting to do is keep you away from jeopardy."
"And who gave you that authority, Michael? It sure as hell wasn't me! Neither you, nor Lucien have a dog chain that claims you own me or my decisions! Now, if both of you will kindly excuse me-" Lucien cut me off by stepping in front of me, his muscles becoming rigid. "I am trying to keep you safe! Forgive me if my methods are a little extreme, I've lost too many people and I refuse to lose you too!" He yells in an angry voice, but there's almost a desperate plea mixed with it. Calming down a tiny bit, my voice came out a little smaller than I intended. "Why do you care, Lucien? I should mean nothing to a hell king," I remind him. With our bodies so, so very close I could feel his breath on my skin, he assured me clearly: "And yet you do, pretty."
Creating a blue portal, I turned and faced him one last time. "Well, in that case, I'll see you soon, hell king, " I said with a smile as I entered the portal.
Descending the portal, it disappeared behind me as wooden steps creak when Braiden comes down them wearing a green strapless dress that matched her eyes perfectly. "Where have you been? The last thing I remember is being in hell with you and Noah, then I was here accompanied by Noah at my side. What happened?"She asked, sounding genuinely curious. Umm, how exactly do I tell her this without coming across like an overprotective mother hen? "Lucian froze you guys, but his impetus is still unclear to me, then I requested that he send you back for protection against anything possibly harmful. I already know what's coming out of your mouth right this instant, so don't even bother saying it, Braiden. Whether you want my help or not, you have it. With that said, I think we better clear the air about some things." I suggested as her palm hit her head and she sighed, frustrated but also...scared? Grabbing her quivering hands in mine, one solitary tear fell from Braiden's eye: the girl who's tough exterior wasn't stronger than her fragile heart. "Nothing that exits your mouth right now will change anything! My parents are still dead because of you," venom poured in and out of her lungs, a heavy exhalation filled with emotions she tried pushing back for so long. "The day you killed my parents was the day my heart cracked, forever altered by this moment I never expected would break me." She began sobbing like the little girl she once was, a shadow of who she is; coveted by loss and darkness. Big puffy eyes stared back at me and I almost didn't catch her whispered words because they were so low.
