Mum

Will probably delete but here it is 😂😂 So I was watching the episode when grace returned and came up with this idea sorry it's really terrible ! I'm not going to do a prologue as it should all be make clear what's going on but it's pretty much the same as casualty so if you have followed  that since when grace left to go to America and live with sam  you should understand it ... Hopefully I will change it but it will be practically similar 😜 💕❤️ leave comments and votes as it really does mean a lot 💕...  Just in case you get confused the bit in italics is before ... "Just fix Emma " grace said harshly as she jumped out of the back of the  ambulance and stormed inside the ED after emma on the trolley .

Emma, sams new girlfriend had been brought in to the hospital due to have severe stomach pains . Grace hadn't seen Connie for over 3 years after moving away to New York with Sam after grace had got kicked out of private school in Holby so came to live back with her mother and got a private tutor  to keep up her school work but Connie prioritised work over grace and ended up loosing her so she went to live in America with her dad  . Grace had called Connie wanting help wanting her mum to help Emma as she was over from America for her dads 3 day conference ; Emma and grace had decided to go shopping in the afternoon then pick up Sam from his conference after it had finished then  go out together as a family . Emma and grace were in the hotel laughing and giggling when Emma doubled over in pain holding her stomach whining , grace could obviously see she was in pain "Em are you okay ?"  Emma couldn't speak she was in agony and all she managed was a mumble but that was it "shall I call an ambulance ?" Grace asked seeing Emma was quiet clearly having excruciating pain to her stomach grace decided to call her mum ... Surely her mum would know what to do ? So she grabbed her phone off the bed side table and scrolled through her contacts until she found mother witch she pressed phone and waited hoping her mum wasn't caught up or too busy to pick up because since she had been in America they had barely spoken to each other due to the time difference and Connies work and even when Connie did pick up she was always being bugged for advise so it was always a brief call that never lasted as long as they both wanted and hoped it would . Grace wondered if she was doing the right thing she didn't want her mum to know she was in the country visiting because she knew Connie would want to see her but grace was dubious about phoning her as she would have to see her mum and speak to her and be in her presence and after the way Connie had treated grace was the main reason she had lost her only  daughter many years ago . Grace was nervous how her mother would react finding out her daughter is in the country but she didn't tell her ... Anyway after what seemed like a life time Connie picked up . (Connies in bold )

"Hey baby "

"Mum , I need your help ; it's Emma she's in serious pain I don't know what to do !"

"What you need to do grace is put the phone down and call 911"

"Mum , we're not in America ... I'm in Holby ... In a hotel with dads girlfriend "

"What hotel ?"

"The Harlow room 819"

"Okay baby an anbulance is on its way "

" mum ... I'm scared "

"It's alright baby , they will be there soon ... Stay on the phone until they Arrive,can I ask you to do something Grace ... Talk to Emma and keep her calm ... Your doing just fine baby "

"Yeah , how much longer she's in real pain "

"Not much longer baby "

Emma cried out in pain as grace was rubbing her thumb over the back of her knuckles to reassure her and to keep her calm although she felt like she wasn't doing anything .

"My own daughter was in holby and I didn't even know what kind of mother does that make me ?" Connie furiously said she was distraught that her own daughter who she hadn't seen in years had returned and she didn't even know about it . Standing frozen after graces icy welcoming outside as grace had marched into the ED with Robyn and Dylan .

Jacob tried to sooth her by bringing his muscly arms round her petit frame attempting to shield her from the January weather and Arctic wind "we will get to the bottom of it Con , it's not your fault sweetcheeks " turning her to face the ED doors to follow in her daughters footsteps which went by just minuets ago but seemed like hours.

"Right what have we got" Connie stated as she walked into the isolated resus away from the main resus which was hectic at the best of times even when the ED was the quietist .

Dylan started to roll off her stats and obs while still being vacant and looking past him and not really listening or taking anything in just gazing at the way her daughter was comforting a complete stranger like a daughter would her actual mother stoking her hand and talking to her asking every second wether she needed anything or she was okay and how she was feeling .

"Connie" her name being questioned soon snapped her out of the tunnel she was focused on "yeah thanks Dylan " she hadn't comprehended a word he had said her main interest was to find out why her daughter was here!

"Hello young lady , how's you " Connie curiously asked her daughter before receiving the same abrupt reply as she had done when she was jumping out the back of the ambulance and chasing her supposedly step mother inside .

Jacob was absorbing the tension between them whilst looking as though he was doing something when he was just re reading the notes in which he had read many times and altering the oxygen levels as her stats fluctuated .

"Hey , honey have you called your dad and told him ? He will be worrying where we are and what's going on sweety " Emma said sweetly to grace .

"No sorry Em I totally forgot , I'll go and do it now " grace put her ipad down and grabbed her iPhone from her bag before walking out of the enclosed area .

Connie was getting angered why was grace so kind and innocent to a woman who she hadn't known for that long presumably not even 2 years yet tore her head off and didn't even want to speak to her own mother who she hadn't seen in what had seemed like forever .

"You must be Connie " again snapping Connie out of her dream as she felt Emma's stomach with her cold hands all Connie was able to say was a mumble of yes.

"I've seen your picture in photos with grace and with sam when you two were together and pregnant... Look I know how it seems but I'm not trying to take away your daughter from you or be you by parking my car on your lawn but I idolise your daughter and would never allow her to talk negatively of you I am not trying to be you as you will always be her mum as far as I'm concerned " 

Jacob raised his eyebrow to look at Connie and held a gaze with her giving her the reassurance she needed . "Yeah i am Connie , thanks -" needing to change the subject as she had no way in complementing the American back "look Sam and I don't talk much so unfortunately I don't know anything about you but thank you ... How you feeling ?"
"Better thanks to the medication you have given me but it still hurts where you have pressed "
"okay I'll order you a CT scan and bloods please Jacob "
"yeah sure" making his way out to order the scan and get the trolley he passed grace who was on her way back from phoning her dad .
