Chapter 12

20 minutes later, Victoria, Cassidy, Lorrena and I, were on our way back to Margaret and Griff's place to pick up my car.

When we arrived, I jumped in the front seat, Cassidy by my side to show me the way.

"Ok so you just pull out and take the next right."

I followed her instructions. To fill the silence I switched on the radio. The loud beat of Roar by Katy Perry, startled me. I scrunched up my face and quickly fumbled for the volume button. As the volume went down and my face straightened up I heard Cassidy's laughter filling up the car. I glanced over at her scowling.

"It's not funny."

She returned my gaze and her smile broadened. " Yes it was. That was hilarious. You should've seen your face."

I finally cracked a smile, trying to imagine it from her side. "Whatever." I mumbled before belting out the lyrics to the song.

"I went from z-e-ro to my own h-e-ro.

You held me down, but I got up.

Already brushing off the dust.

You hear my voice, you hear that sound.

Like thunder gonna shake the ground."

After awhile, Cassidy joined me.

"You held me down but I got up.

Get ready cause I've had enough.

I see it all, I see it now.

I've got the eye of the tiger.

A fighter. I am a champion.

And you're gonna hear me ROAR."

When the song continued and neither of us could remember the rest of the lyrics we burst into a series of laughter and some chorus lines. By the time we got to the girls place, with traffic, Cassidy and myself had belted out Paradise, Thank you and We can't stop. One of the best car rides of my life.

I rolled down the window, as I heard a tapping at my window. I twisted to face Victoria. "Would you guys stop laughing and get out of the car?" Cassidy and I exchanged glances, not laughing for a moment. Then simultaneously, burst into laughter all over again, this time climbing out of the car.

"What are these two laughing about?" Lorrena whispered to Victoria. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the questioned one shrug.

I tried to stop my laughter and started panting from lack of oxygen. A smile still plastered on my face. Then I slowly tried to explain to them what had happened. "We…were…just having a…good time…belting out the lyrics to…" and Cassidy finished for me, "Songs…on…the radio." Lorrena and Victoria rolled their eyes, however started chuckling.

After a few more moments of laughing, Lorrena suggested we go inside and get our weekend started. We all agreed and started marching to their cute little townhouse.

Victoria moved around us, to the front door, and pushed in her key. She twisted the knob and held the door open, "Welcome to our humble abode." She exclaimed, motioning with her full arm to the little place. It was cute, yet spacious. The kitchen, living room, laundry room, and toilet were on the bottom floor. All the bedrooms, the guest bedroom, main bathroom and study were upstairs.

We stepped inside the lovely little place and went straight to the kitchen. After a minute of examining the cupboards and fridge, we went into a frenzy, grabbing anything and everything edible. We threw all the food into the living room and then made our way up the stairs.
