"How much further do we have to go Vreal?"

Ebon and Vreal were deep into the woods by now, the sun showing it was nearly midday. They had been walking around for hours, hardly resting. The two had to find the queen of the forest, they had to find somewhere for their sister to go and be safe from the war. So far though, they hadn't found her or anything to show that she was real. Ebon didn't like this at all and was quickly losing his temper again.

"Vreal, you know she's probably already dead if this is an ancient sory." He complained more. "We need to think of a different idea because I don't think this is going to work at all."

"Ebon," Vreal said calmly, still leading the way. "We don't know if she is alive or not. You know this world has many magical mysteries so she could still be living. Look, we'll give it a few more hours then we'll head back before it gets dark out. If we can't find her, we'll think of something else."

The boy still wasn't happy with the idea, but he couldn't argue with his oldest brother since he had taken care of both sides. Sighing to himself, Ebon continued to follow his brother through the woods. As they passed by, the birds stopped chirping, fearing they were going to be hunted, other animals scurrying away, which was a natural occurrence for forest animals that weren't used to humans. However, as they continued on, the animal's behavior started to change. Instead of running away, they stood there and watched quietly. A few others came from hiding and watched as the boys passed by. The two noticed this right away and heighten their guard as they continued on.

"What are they staring at?" Ebon asked.

"At us of course," Vreal answered. "But the real question is why? Why are they watching us instead of attacking or running away?

"Most of these animals aren't even predators; they eat grass and other plants."

Suddenly, the trees started to move. Little bits at first, but soon they started to swing at the boys. Luckily, they knew already how to protect themselves and quickly dodged the branches as they came after them. Vreal jumped onto one and ran twoards the trunk of it, a blade in his hand. Ebon simply kicked them away, taking rocks and throwing them at the other trees.

The two of them fought well together, as did with their other two brothers when needed. Vreal had just cut into a branch when they heard a yell. It sounded like the tree was in pain. Something the boys had never heard before. The tree branch Vreal had cut quickly pulled back and hid itself from the two boys. The brothers looked at it in confusion, watching as the other branches started to go back to their still form.

"Guess trees don't like to fight much." Ebon commented, Vreal putting his blade away.

"I have to agree with you on that Ebon. But usually trees don't move on their own. Someone is controlling them."

"No one is controlling them, they are simply alive. But I guess I gave them life so that makes me the one controling them." A feminine voice said from behind the two.

The boys quickly turned to see an elven woman standing before them. She had long brown hair that fell past her hips, and brown eyes the same shade. Wearing a simply grass green dress that flowed freely to her feet, a slit on the side opened at the middle to show her pale leg. She looked wise with age, but not too old. Perhaps as old as their late mother was when she died; becoming wise, but yet still young. On her forehead lied a simple gold tiara with three gems hanging off of it, each being a different color. She also held what looked like a large pitcher of some kind of liquid, perhaps water. Her smile was soft and kind, showing no hostility what so ever to the boys as they stood there and looked at her in awe.

Ebon couldn't believe waht he saw. This beautiful woman that stood before them was real. He wasn't dreaming about it at all, this was real. He couldn't pull his eyes away from the woman, his words caught in his throat. He could feel the authority of a royal coming off of this woman and, though he would never admit it, he was somewhat scared of what this woman could do to him and his brother.
