The cries of battle could be heard a mile from the village. The sound of metal hitting metal, wold and flesh and bone could also be heard. The screams were loud, many begging to be spared but gone unheard. The villagers that couldn't fight tried to flee into the forest to keep them safe. But they were met with more of the enemy that hid in the trees and long grasses. Ones that didn't run to the forest tried to stay in their homes, but watched as it was lit on fire. It seemed that no one could escape; they were going to be forced to watch their village burn and be left in ashes and dead bodies all around.

But the men of the village weren't going down without a fight. They had grabbed anything they could use as a weapon that could kill. They used farm tools, rocks, some even had swords. Some soldiers were there too; ready to collect the men they were to take into the army. They fought as well, alongside the villager men. But it was a battle that they were slowly losing. They were losing men left and right, some injured, others killed.

"Fall back!" A soldier cried. "We can't hold them off!"

"But sir," One of the villages begged. "What of our village? We can't leave our wives and kids to fend for themselves with nowhere to live."

"I am sorry, but there are battles where we must make sacrifices."

The man couldn't argue anymore. A spear ran through his chest, into his heart and killing him instantly. Drops of blood jumped onto the soldiers face, his eyes staring at the man that was alive just seconds before, but now lay in a pool of his own blood. The evilthat had killed, the creature that served their enemy king, pulled the spear out and looked at the soldier. His eyes were as red as blood, the thing that he thirsted for. It gave a grotesque growl before it readied to stab again.

An arrow flew through the sky, striking the besat between his eyes. He fell back, the soldier looking around for the man that had rescued him from his early death.

"I hope you don't mind, you didn't see to be doing anything so I took your kill without asking."

The man turned to see four young men walking towards them, each of them with their own weapon. The man that had shot the arrow stood brave and tall, his hair a bit messy, making him look younger than he actually was. The boy walked over and pulled the arrow out from the beast's skull and put it back with the other arrows.

"I suggest you lead the men out of here." Another of the four spoke, looking to be the tallest and oldest of the group. He held a giant sword that seemed to weigh far too much for him to be carryinng it with such ease. But he held it in one hand, the tip not touching the ground at all.

The soldier nodded and rushed away, shouting for his men. The four that were left simply looked at each other. They knew what they had to do, and they weren't going to do it to get some special rank like mot soldiers. They wanted this place safe for their sister when they returned. To them, Little Sister was the only thing that would keep them going.

While the soldiers ran into the forest, they were able to counter the attackers there. The villagers knew the foret better than both sides and took down many. In the village itself, only the four men stayed behind, making sure that everything was safe. The women and children that had survived carried buckets of water to put out the flames and save what they could. The boys protected them while they worked, killing any beast that got in the way. A few of the women joined in as well, being trained by someone at some point in time.

Then, it grew quiet.

The enemy seemed to disappear suddenly, leaving no trace at all of them anywhere. The brothers looked around, as well did the survivors. They knew the enemy wouldn't disappear this easily, and they weren't going to give up either unless they all died.

"This isn't going to end well, is it?" The one with the bow asked.

The oldest was about to speak when a loud screeching sound was heard. Everyone knew what that meant. Dragon.

The boys turned just in time to see it fly through the air. A child was sent down each of their spines, having never see a dragon in real life before.

"What are we going to do? It'll destroy the whole village!"

"Well, guess we'll have to fight it." A soldier said, walking up to them. It was the same one that had come to get them. "You boys never fought a dragon? I'll show you on the way."
