'two years later'
tiger hadn't cried in a really long time. he had become the source of his happiness, they were each other's rock to lean on in bad times. tiger knew that he was still damaged, yet he was recovering everyday. tiger thought that he was finally okay.
yet, here he was.
tiger looked down at the sheet in front of him, chords and lyrics moulding together in perfect harmony. a single tear hit the top of the page. tiger wiped it away before it could stain the sheet. it was the song he had written when he had tried to take his life. tiger read through the lyrics, a continuum of tears sliding down his cheeks.
his mother knocked on the door. tiger had been staying with her since that night, although everything still reminded him of him. "are you ready?" she asked softly. tiger nodded, getting up and wiping his hands over the silk black suit. he folded up the piece of paper, slipping it into his pocket.
🌠🌠🌠
tiger could hardly understand the words coming from the priest's mouth, not over his mother's weeping and the own pounding in his ears. everyone said their farewells, shared their best memories of him, shed a few tears. but tiger knew that nobody felt like he did in that moment. nobody knew the agony of finding him, lying on his bed, their bed, surrounded in a pool of his own blood. he pictured this now, as a few men tiger had never seen before carried him on his way.
tiger's car rode close behind the hearse, with his mother's being the only vehicle in front. although there were a little less than a hundred people at the service, only the selective few chose to go to the cemetery. he had a nice plot, a little spot near the very top of the mountain. tiger knew that he liked the view from high places. cliffs, tall buildings, the top of a large tree. anything.
his mother's cries rang out through the space as her only child was lowered to his final resting place. tiger couldn't help but think of all the times he had snuck through the window, how his arms felt around his waist, how he laughed, how he smiled.
tiger and his mother were the only two people left. she couldn't bare to stay there much longer. she looked over at tiger and nodded. he nodded back. she left him, which he didn't really mind. he was just waiting to be alone with him for the last time. tiger pulled the paper from his pocket, smoothing the crumpled edges so he could read the words.
tiger sat beside the grave, resting his back against the headstone. he started to sing.
"now, the night, is coming to an end,"
the lump in his throat caused the words to sound uneven, but he kept on.
"the sun will rise, and we will try again"
the tears ran down tiger's face, hitting the freshly turned soil, sinking into the earth.
"stay alive, stay alive, for me,"
after each word, he hiccuped, spluttering his way through the song. he couldn't take it anymore. tiger buried his face into his lap, his hands digging into the dirt, each sob making him shake fiercely.
after what felt like forever, his eyes grew dry, there were no tears left. he felt weak, as though everything had been taken from him. he closed his eyes, folding up the paper and pressing it back into his pocket softly. tiger kissed his hand, pressing it against the soft ground, before standing up and walking back down to his car.
🌠🌠🌠
tiger wondered what it felt like. to die. he knew that anything was better than how he felt. he wondered if dying would finally unite himself with the one he'd lost. he'd had the note written for six days now, but he still didn't have the courage to do anything about it.
he took the note, slipping it into the pocket of his jumper.
tiger drove to the one place he knew he could be himself: the beach. he walked to the highest cliff he could find. no one was around, not on a dreary tuesday. he took the note from his pocket and read over it.

tyler placed the note back in his pocket, and he flew.
