I didn't see Peeta in school the rest of the day. I think he's avoiding me.

I walk home depressed and annoyed with myself. But I guess I shouldn't be. I mean, what did I do? Nothing. If anything I trying to do a good thing by thanking him but yet he wouldn't speak to me or even look at after it! Maybe Peeta wasn't as special as I thought?

I don't know why, but when I was walking home something inside me decided I would walk the long way home today. Past the bakery.

When I see the bakery, I casually look at the cakes in the window. But really I'm looking for Peeta. That's when I see her. The monster...

She hits him on the face over and over again until I can't take it anymore.

I burst into the door of the bakery.

"Don't dare touch him!" I squeal at Peeta's mother.

What have I done? She now looks at me in fury and I realise I'm next. In shock, my feet don't move from the ground. It's as if they have been stuck down by glue. Really sticky glue.

Suddenly, Peeta has my hand and he rushes me out of the Bakery. I'm panting as I run. Peeta doesn't say a word he just runs determinedly to... I have no idea where we are running to!

I see my house now. But we run past it. I look at him while trying to run. His face is determined to reach somewhere. But, where?

Then we come to the fence, my poaching fence. We stop.

"Katniss, please. Run away with me."
