Y/N's POV

I waited in front of the school gates for Dick to show up. I was so excited he could come, but I was scared for him. I didn't want him to get in trouble for coming to the dance with me. If he did get in trouble though, I was going to stand in for him. I was going to take the blame. I checked my phone and it was 9:00. 'He said he would be here by 8:40. Maybe he did get caught. I should call him.' I went through my phone and clicked his contact. I was about to hit call when hands went around my eyes. "Got here in time." The voice said. I sighed in relief. "Actually you got here 20 minutes late." I told him. "Really? Oops. I'm sorry. I had a tuff time getting out because of Alfred, the butler of the house. He's also a great friend. Love your outfit as well." He explained to me. I could feel his eyes looking at my A/C ( any costume. You can choose what you wear. ) "I forgive you. And I would like to see your outfit as well, so... could you remove your hands?" I asked him. My face was blushing hard because of this. I can't help it. "Nope. I don't feel like it." Dick said. "Please, Dick. I..." He cut me off. "Wait here. I will be right back." He took his hands of my eyes and left me there. I looked around for him, but he was gone. "There he goes again." I sighed. I waited for him and he got back about 10 minutes later. I heard someone behind me. I grabbed their arm and swung them in front of me. It was Dick, again. "D...Dick!" I yelled at him. "Don't sneak up on me." I scolded. "Sorry. But... tonight I shall be called Richard. That is my real name." He told me. "Oh. Why didn't you tell me that? I could have called you that whenever you wanted." I said. "Sorry. I just... It was hard for me to tell others, but I trust you with it." He smiled. I melted. "Ok, ok." I agreed. I looked at his costume and he was wearing a trapeze outfit. His face had a mask where his blue eyes stood out for everyone to see.

"Is there anything wrong with my costume?" He asked

"Is there anything wrong with my costume?" He asked. "N...No! I just... well..." I stuttered. "It's awesome. I love it!" I confessed. "Really? Thanks! I had it in my closet so I used it at the last minute." He told me. "But... your costume is so much better than mine." He said. "T...Thanks. Umm..." I blushed. "Shall we go in?" He asked reaching his arm out to me. "Sure." I smiled taking his arm. We walked inside the school and saw so many different costumes. But, I saw many people with Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and many other superhero costumes. I shook my head. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing. It's just that... well... everyone is dressed up as the Justice League heroes. Why don't they dress up as their apprentices? Like... Robin, or... Kid Flash." I confessed. "Actually. You're right! It would be nice to see someone dressed up as them. Especially S/H/N. That would be cool. I sweat dropped. "You... you would want someone to be dressed up as her?" I asked. "Yes. She's so cool." He said. I smiled. We walked into the gym and saw some people dressed as the team. There were Robins, Superboys, Miss Martians, Kid Flashes, attempts at Aqualad, and Artemises. I looked around and only saw one me, well... S/H/N. That someone was Jocelyn. "I was hoping for someone to dress up as S/H/N, but not Jocelyn." D...Richard whined. It was adorable how frustrated he was. I chuckled. "Yeah. You have no idea how I feel about that. "I mumbled the last part. "What was that?" He asked. "Nothi..." I was interrupted by the devil herself. "Dick! Is that you?" She screeched while prying me off of him. "I've been looking everywhere for you! Do you like my costume? I had it specially made to fit my body perfectly." Jocelyn explained to him. "Doesn't it look perfect on my body?" She asked. I wanted to save Richard from her but... this was getting good. His facial expression was priceless. "Umm... I don't know. It looks... It looks fine. Umm..." He sweat dropped. "Aww! You are tripping over your words for me!" She giggled. I laughed a bit at that. D...Richard looked over and glared daggers at me. I shrugged and smiled an innocent smile at him. "Oh! Y/N! Why are you here? Aren't you supposed to be at the dump or wherever that is?" She asked me while walking over to me. My innocent smile faded and Richard mocked my innocent smile when I looked over at him for help. "Don't you think my costume is better than yours?" Jocelyn asked me. "Well... actually yeah. Your costume is better than mine because its m...S/H/N." I confessed. 'I almost said mine. That was close. I looked over at Dick... Richard. And saw he was interested in this conversation. I decided to make it fun for him. "Well... it would look so much better if it wasn't clinging to your umm... body." She got mad at my comment. Richard was trying his best not to laugh to loud. I applauded myself inside. "Ugh!" Jocelyn screamed and stormed away. "That went better than expected." Richard announced. "Yeah. Usually she gets mad and calls her minions over." I said. "Does... umm... does she hurt you in any way?" He asked. "Umm... n-no not really. Just acts really snobby sometimes." I lied. I didn't want him to worry. "Don't lie to me, Y/N. Please. Does she hurt you." He asked me sternly grabbing my shoulders. He looked into my eyes and I saw that he cared for me. I looked into his eyes and I had to tell him the truth. I looked down and found interest in my shoes. "Y...yeah. Sometimes, I guess. It's no big deal though. I can take it." I smiled at him. "It's not ok. She hurts you. Is it because of me?" He continued. "N...No! It's not because of you. I mean... well she wants to use me to get to you, but it's not your fault." I pleaded. He smiled at me and hugged me. He buried my face into his chest. ( Let's just say he is taller than is Young Justice, and you are as tall as his chest. ) I hugged back. "It's alright. I'll be fine. Plus, she hits like a girl." I explained. "I'm still sorry for not noticing earlier. All the bruises and scratches and all." He apologized. 'The bruises? Oh... from my missions.' "Umm... actually part of those are from me being stupid. I swear." I confessed. 'It is partially true. I was being stupid on missions.' "Come on. Let's go have fun at the game booths." I told him after the hug. He nodded and smiled at me. We then walked toward the first game booth.
