We hit the big one oh.
Inspo: SPEAK(movie) [not based on it, but it got me thinking.] And partially Mean Girls

"Thanks." I said softly to the lunch lady before turning to face the rest of the school.
Before me I saw a bunch of cliques - Jocks, Nerds, Asians, Artists, Musicians, Goths, Cheerleaders, The cool kids, The weirdos- none of which I fit into. You'd think the losers of the school would befriend me, but not even their standards were that low.
This part I'm sure you've seen before. I trekked for the bathroom, after sitting comfortably in my stall, I began to eat my tuna sandwich.
Everyday it was the same routine,I should probably have been used to it, but that one tear (and many others to follow) never failed to escape my eyes. And today was no different. So much can change in one year. Last year, I was sitting with populars and living in my bubble until someone burst it. No it wasn't over me wearing sweatpants two days in a row.
Here's what happened. My friends and I had always been mean to everyone, but somehow they all liked us. Truth is, I didn't like us. I never understood why we had to be b'tches to everyone just to be considered cool.
We had made this girl cry one day, it had never happened before so it hit me hard. It was like I had finally realised the weight of my words. I followed her to the bathroom after she had ran off. She was in my stall. Before it was mine, it was known as the Sorry Stall, the perfect place to cry and throw a pity party."Hey, Melissa right? I'm sorry. We didn't mean to hurt you, it was just for fun. I'm sorry." I said against the door.
"You know what your problem is?" She opened the door. I was faced with her red and puffy eyes, and they were totally consumed with anger. "You're so fake. The fact that you came here to apologize shows what a two faced witch you are. You think I'm gonna let you ridicule me again? This farce of an apology is absolute cow dung." Cow dung?
"I'm sick of people like you. You think you're better than everyone and that the entire student body is in love with you. But we're not! I'm sure you're so called friends hate you too. I mean look at yourself. Who dates they're own best friends ex after she was the reason they broke up in the first place?"Truth is Trish, you're as pathetic as your science grade and as fake as your eyelashes. Thanks for you're poop apology, but I don't need it. Here's some advice. 1) Reevaluate your life, 2) stay away from the heaters, plastic melts." She finished if by shoving me and then rushed out of the bathroom.
I took her former advice to heart rather than her latter, because that was just rude. I did reevaluate myself, my friends, my personality, and I didn't like it much.
After failed attempts to get my friends to be nicer, my now former best friend stabbed me in the back like I did her. She kicked me out of the group because I was "too much of a loser" to hang out with them. The thing about our group was that we basically set the rules of Riverside High. If we wore vintage clothes, everyone else did. If we stared drinking weird Japanese tea, so did they. And when we shunned someone, everyone did the same. And I was shunned
The bell rang and so I left my sanctuary and made my way to American History. As I opened the door and walked out,I must have walked into Zeus himself.
"Sorry." The handsome stranger apologised. "You look like you've been here a while. Do you mind helping me? I'm looking for American History, Room 339. I'm new and frankly, I don't think I even know where the guys' bathroom is."
"Well you're in luck. I'm heading for American History myself. I'm Patricia, but my non-existent friends call me Trish."
He laughed such a beautiful and contagious laugh that I couldn't help but follow suit.
"I'm Ethan. Nice to meet you." He offered his hand and I shook it. We walked silently to class.I couldn't stop myself from looking at him as often as I could. And from the looks of it, he was having the same problem.

Suggested Title: Wrapped Candy. (I'll explain this)
Genre: Romance.
Possible Spin-offs: Obviously we can see Trish and Ethan getting together, but it can't be easy. Not only because the story has to be realistic, but because Trish has some trust issues and she's insecure and she's also depressed. Imagine losing all your friends and status in the blink of an eye. I want a friend introduced too. I'm thinking this person can befriend Trish but it's all part of a prank to embarrass her after she opens up to this person. Only then can Trish get with Ethan, because she's broken and frankly, Ethan is ready to cut himself putting her pieces back together. The wrapped candy part. I think it's a cute nickname that Ethan could give Trish (though, it's shortened to just candy or my candy, sweet candy or something. Depends on what you like). He calls her this, because he believes underneath her tasteless and off-putting exterior, she's a really sweet girl.
I have a good feeling about this book.
