When Isabella heard her sister, Amber, talking to herself from her adjacent room it didn't surprise her. Amber had always had imaginary friends. But after the talking stopped and Amber was completely silent, Bella knew something was up. She jumped from her bed and entered the six year old's bedroom.

"Amber! Playing hide and seek with Milly?" She asked. She was only greeted with silence. "Amber! Milly says she gives up. You can come out now."

No response.

"C'mon, this isn't funny. Amber!" She was frantically tearing the little girl's room in half now. Amber was no where to be seen. Not under the bed, not in the closet, bathroom, downstairs, kitchen. No where.

How does one explain to her parents that she has lost her own sister simply two hours after being left alone. As worried as she was, Isabella had hoped it was all some crazy prank and Amber would come out of hiding when she got hungry. And by the time her mom and dad were back in a week, everything would have been fine. She lay in her bed and tried to sleep. Maybe it was the fact that is was only seven thirty or that she couldn't shake the fear off, but she couldn't fall asleep.

At around midnight, Isabella decided to go look for the little devil, as she put it, that still hadn't resurfaced.
"Amber I swear to God if-" she stopped in awe when she entered the room and she saw Amber in her bed sleeping peacefully. She let go of a breath she hadn't known she was holding and walked over to kiss her little sister on cheek.

The next morning while the sisters both enjoyed their breakfast - slightly burnt toast - Bella just had to ask the burning question that was still gnawing at her.
"Amb, where did you go yesterday?" She asked trying to sound nonchalant. If Amber even slightly noticed that Bella was trying to ask a serious question, she'd take it as a cue to play a prank. For a six year old she was not only smart but very perceptive.

"To the loo. I do that evweyday."

"I know but you were gone for a while. Had an adventure with Milly?"

"No. Kirby took me to see his home. It was quite fun." She flashed her sister a smile with two of her top front teeth missing.

"Kirby, this is new. Is he a merman like Milly?" Isabella picked up her plate and walked to drop it off at the sink.

"Actually he's a fairy. Turn around he's sat down next to me." Amber said. No hint in her voice that maybe she just said something odd.

Isabella did it to please her sister, obviously she had to act out the routine she has done many times. She would greet the "friend", offer them a beverage that they always denied and then they would engage in cherry chatter for a while, Amber having to translate whatever weird language her new friend allegedly spoke.

But this time there was no need for acting.

As Isabella turned around her eyes met the impossibly yellow eyes of a young boy, probably around eight or nine. She nearly chocked on her own saliva before delivering a shaky greeting.

"Nice to meet you Isabella. I've heard a lot about you. Amber here just adores you." The boy said smiling, his bright eyes glistening, his teeth as white as snow in perfect contrast to his dark chocolate skin.

"No I don't." Amber retorted.

"W-would you like something to drink. I have Coke, apple juice, vodka." Bella said the part silently turning around to grab some glasses. She couldn't believe her eyes. And imaginary friend that wasn't imaginary.

"I can't. Water will be fine. We fairies can't drink or eat anything human. It's all contaminated with hazardous chemicals. In my world everything is organic, we totally live off nature." He said. For a nine year old he had an impeccable air of sophistication and intelligence.

Isabella filled the glass with tap water and handed it to the boy. She stood opposite him by the kitchen island.

"Your world? And where would that be?"

"Well we haven't really named it. We just call it Home. I can take you if you'd like." He offered with yet other huge smile. Come to think of it, Bella didn't think he'd stopped smiling the entire time.

"Oh please please please can we go. Pleeeeeeeease."  Amber begged. "Trust me you'll love it."

"What, are you going to introduce me to Tinkerbell?" She laughed.

"Actually she's my neighbour. I'm sure she'd love you. May I just warn you that she's not what you expect. She simply shares a name with the common earthly interpretation of fairies, but our Tinkerbell is not all roses." He warned.

Half of Isabella wanted to wake up from this ridiculous dream she was having. Fairies? Really? She asked herself. And half of her was curious and trusting. She'd only know this fairy child for less than an hour but she was ready to trust him to take her and her sister into the unknown. Assuming this fairy business was real of course.

"Ok, I'll come. But since Amber is six, I'm sixteen and you're what, nine? I'm in charge. If I say take us home, you take us home. Understood?"

"Technically, I am a hundred and eighty years old. But since fairies age twenty times slower, I guess you could say I am nine. So yes, understood."

"Okay grandpa. Take us...to your world."

Kirby stood up and held hands with both Amber and Isabella then slowly whispered his destination.

"Home."

I really wanted to continue this but I had to stop myself so you can explore home on your own.
This might be my best work so far.*tears up from undeserved pride*

Suggested Title: Home (I couldn't think of anything)
Genre: Fantasy/Adventure
Possible Spin-offs: I'm thinking they end up in this beautiful utopia. Everything is great, streams of candy and what not. Bella meets Tink and they hit it off. Think could maybe have that sarcastic personality that no one seems to hate...completely. But we need some conflict, maybe go the cliché route and have someone threaten the existence of Home. Maybe some evil fairies who want to take over. Obviously the good guys win, but I'm thinking we can add a double agent who turns triple. Like, he's evil but he pretends to be good just to end up actually being good and he helps save the day.

Good luck guys.
