Chapter 11: Search

A/N: ok so this next chapter is gonna be in a third person POV, and it's gonna revolve around the Alpha and Beta kids (minus Jade & Jake).

As John went about his day, he noticed that Cass hasn't shown up at all today. Maybe she was busy with a project Rose had given her. He thought as he restocked some inventory. No, that can't be right, because she made stops to all of us yesterday. If she had a project, she would have stayed at the library. He decided to text their group to see if anyone else had seen her.

EB: have any of you guys seen Cass today?

TT: No, I have not seen her at all today.
TT: She's never missed a class.
EB: thats strange because she normally stops by here before going to see you

GG: Cass isn't here, but she left a note!
GG: I think it's mighty important that you all scamper over here as fast as you can!

Soon all of you were standing in front of Cass' little apartment surrounding Jane, who was reading the note Cass left behind.
Dear everyone,
I've decided to go and look for Jade and Jake. I want to know what's taking them so long to answer us. I'm gonna board a cargo ship that's going to the West Quarter to see if they're alright. Don't worry about me, I'll be fine! I'll come back with both of them, wait and see!

They stood in stunned silence as the message began to sink in. "Someone grab me a newspaper, stat!" Ordered Jane. John quickly grabbed one from a nearby stand. The headline read:
CARGO SHIP HEADED TO WEST QUARTER STRANDED IN A STORM AFTER DEPARTURE
As a cargo ship headed for the West Quarter, it got caught by a large storm a few hours after departure. It is believed to have either been thrown off course, sunken, or both. There is doubt of any survivors. If any crew members survived to find land, it would be on Mythic land.
They stood on horrified silence at the story. "She will survive." Said Rose. "She's always been smart and always had a stroke of dumb luck every so often. There's a pretty good chance she's alive and looking for Jade and Jake." Even though he knew it was pointless, John whipped out his phone and began texting

EB: cass!
EB: cass if you get this message please send a reply as soon as you can!
"Dude, there's no point. She's not gonna get any signal out there." "Wait!" They looked at John with confusion. "Someone's typing!" A wave of shock rippled from the group as they awaited a reply

AG: John?
EB: oh my god youre alive!
AG: yea why wouldn't I be
EB: we thought you were dead! why would you do something like this?!
AG: oh ye have lettle faith
AG: look I thought I could find Jade and Jake and come back with them
AG: and then a bunch of crazy shit happened and long story short I'm part snake now
EB: wait a minute, how are you even getting service there
AG: ask Dirk ;)

"Dirk, check your pockets." He did so, and realized his phone wasn't on him. "That little shit stole my phone. I made it to work anywhere in the world."

AG: hehe I bet he's calling me a little shit right now huh
EB: he is indeed
AG: k well gotta go I'm heading out with my bros to go do some catching up
AG: later dork <3

"So, what now?" Roxy asked with uncertainty. "We go after her, of course. She got over there fine so why not us? I know I'm not the only one who misses Harley and English." Dave stated matter-of-factly. "Are you sure, Dave? This would be a dangerous journey with a slim chance of survival." "Rose, I'm absolutely sure. I'm so sure that imma go and pack right now." His bro followed suit. "Well I guess we don't have a choice, then. Come on, John. We need to go pack." Jane said as she pulled John along with her. "You too, Roxy." Rose said, doing the same. A few hours later they were all ready to sneak onto another ship headed for the West Quarter. "You'd a thought by now not to send ships this way." Dirk muttered as they hid in a safe spot. "We might as well get some rest. We have a long trip ahead of us." Rose said as she started to nod off. It was nearing midnight, and they were all tired. Soon they were all asleep as the ship sailed into unknown peril.
