Five Years Later

WARNING: FEELS

Cass' POV

It's been five years since that day. Five years since I said goodbye to my human family and began living with my Captor one. I've made lots of friends, Eridan being one of my closest, or Moirail as he calls it. But not once have I forgotten about my human family. I thought about them every day, and I missed them dearly. I was eighteen years old now, and I'm sure they haven't forgotten either. Every day I wondered if I'd ever see them again, and it was one of the things I hoped for the most. I bet they'd be proud of who I became. I'm not the scared little four-year-old they found thirteen years ago. I still didn't think about what my actions might lead to, like they did when this all started. In fact, if I had never gone to find Jade and Jake, I never would have been reunited with my family. I was wandering around the forest near the with all of this in my head when I heard someone coming. I knew all of my friends well enough to tell that it was Karkat, who seriously did not care if he scared every animal in a ten-mile radius with all the noise he was making. "CASS WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU?" He shouted very loudly. "I'm right here McShoutie. What is it?" I asked from behind him. He jumped and whirled around to glare at me. "FIRST OFF, FUCK YOU! YOU KNOW I HATE IT WHEN YOU FUCKING DO THAT TO ME! SECOND, THERE ARE SOME WEIRD ASS CREATURES ON THE BEACH ASKING IF YOU WERE AROUND." He said and I perked up. If Karkat didn't know them, and they were asking about me- I nearly tackle pounced him out of happiness. "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU? YOU'RE NEVER THIS HAPPY AT ALL!" He shouted and I squealed and tried to contain my excitement. "It's them they've come back! They really came back!" I shouted and dashed off to the beach. "WHAT THE FUCK IS SHE TALKING ABOUT?" Karkat said to himself and decided not to question it. On the other hand, I was dashing through the forest as fast as I could. I had to get to the beach. I could not believe it was really them! I burst through the trees to see all eight of my human family standing there. John, Jade, Rose, Dave, Dirk, Jane, Jake, Roxy they were all there! I tackle pounced John and wrapped my tail around the rest of them. "I missed you guys so much!" I cried and tears of happiness began to well up in my eyes. "We missed you too. You've certainly grown up." John said and pulled me into a hug. Once I let go of the others they did the same. "You never forgot your promise." He said with tears of joy soaking his face. "It's like you don't know me at all! I always keep my promises. Always."
