It was the middle of the night. I quietly moved off of the bed, making sure I didn't wake anyone up. I grabbed my bag and necklace and silently slithered out the door. I made my way down to the beach, stopping every few minutes to make sure I wasn't being followed. I reached the cool sand and set down my stuff. I quietly moved over to the rocks. I didn't actually expect someone to be sitting there. My bi-colored eyes widened when I saw him. He had sort of a violet skin tone, and find on his head where his ears should be. He did have horns, but they sort of had a lighting bolt shape to them. Apart from that, he looked human. Except for the fact that he had a long violet fish tail where his legs should have been. I also noticed the gills on his neck and sides. Holy thit thith guyth an Ampora. I thought as I continued to spy on him. Suddenly he sighed and leaned back on the rock. It made me jump because my tail splashed a little in the water and I froze. His jerked his head to look in my direction and I tried to hide behind the rock. It didn't work. "Wwho's there?" He had a weird accent and I couldn't figure out why it was so amusing to me. I stayed silent, nonetheless. "I knoww you're there." No point in hiding now, I guess. I slowly came out of my hiding spot and looked around the rock. "I don't bite. Don't be scared." I ever so slowly made my way over to him until I was sitting next to him. "W-what'th you're name?" I asked with a cautious tone. "Eridan. Yours?" "Cathiopeia. But I would like to be called Cath." I added quickly. "Tho you're a theadweller. Aren't there pretty few of thothe?" "No, not reelly. There quite a feww of us, though wwe aren't seen vvery much by landwwellers. I'vve heard that some evven call us myths." He laughed. I have to admit, he was pretty nice. "Speakin of wwhich, I made an important discovvery today." "Oh? What'th that?" I asked, suddenly curious about whatever he was going to say. "I found out today that humans aren't, in fact, a myth. I found her earlier today, right ovver there, actually." He gestured to the spot where I'd fallen into the water earlier. Wait..... Ith thith the guy who tried to pull me underwater?! Why hathn't he tried to do it again? I mentally slapped myself for even coming up with such a stupid question. He doesn't recognize me like this. "Hey Cass? Are you ok? You're just starin out into space." "Oh! Uh, yeah. I'm fine." He gave me a suspicious look. I tried to change the subject. "So what brings you out here this late at night?" "I had a stupid idea that the human wwould come back. I guess I wwas wwrong. Wwhy are you out here so late at night?" He eyed me suspiciously. "Uh, no reathon. Jutht out for a midnight thtroll ith all." I smiled nervously. He was getting close to finding out. "Oh! I uh, better get going. It wath nithe meeting you!" I said before making my leave. I got back to my bag and checked to make sure he wasn't watching. Good, he wasn't. I clipped on the necklace and started running back into the forest since I could run faster. I really hope he didn't see me! I thought as I ran.
Eridan's POV
I watched Cass dash back to her bag on the sand. She turned around and I hid behind the rock. When she turned around again I saw her clip on some sort of necklace and my eyes widened in shock. Instead of the Captor I was just talking to, there stood a human. Wwait a minute..... That's the human from today! And she wwas sittin right next to me! I almost slapped myself in the face for letting her slip by again. Next time I saw that human, I wasn't going to let her get away again.
