Chapter 14: The other search

I awoke to someone shaking my shoulder. "Five more minuteth..." I groaned. "No get ur snakey ass up were goin 2 find Jade n Jake." "Meeeehhh" I groaned as Roxy hauled me out of bed and into the den. Everyone was ready to go. I grabbed my backpack and put on my necklace. We said our goodbyes and started to head out the door. "Wait a minute!" Sollux shouted as he came up beside me. "I'm coming with you. You're going to need a guide." "Oh come on I'm not that helpless." I teased him. "Ok well I'm coming anyway." "Ok then."  Soon we were out of sight of the cave. We headed in the direction of the beach since we figured that was where we could find clues. Soon we were searching out on the sand, looking for anything that might give us a clue. We came across a tall cliff overlooking the other side of the beach. "Hey I'm going to go look from up there." I said as I headed over. Since I couldn't really climb it from the side I was currently on, I had to wade into the water and move around to the front of the cliff. It had much better footholds. I began to climb, slipping a little from my wet feet. Little did I know about the danger sitting just below me.

I was swimming in the shallow part of the rocks when I felt a disturbance in the nearby water. I hid behind a rock and peeked to look at the newcomer. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a human. Or at least I thought so. I'd never seen one before, but I had doubted their existence because of this. But here it was, wading into the shallows. This was a rare amongst rare opportunity. I slowly swam closer to the human, but it was already climbing out of the water. It looked like it was trying to get to the top of the cliff. I saw it slip a number of times, but it hasn't fallen. Yet. All I had to do was wait until it fell. Maybe if I bring home this human she'll finally start to like me back...
