The next morning I was sitting on the roof of the lodging house with Jack. Someone put their hands over my eyes.
"Guess who?" They asked
"I may not be able to see you newsy but you damn voice didn't change "I said.
"You're too smart for your own good Liz" he said "I got ya something "
"A diamond necklace? "I asked.
"Do I look like Pulitzer to you? "He asked.
" maybe if you grew a beard"I said.
"Very funny"He said he tossed Jack and me an apple.
"Where did you get these from? "Jack asked Spot.
"Well I sure as hell didn't buy em"Spot said.
"Just eat your apple Jack you couldn't even afford the peel" I remarked.
Jack rolled his eyes and bit into his apple.
"So guess what? "Spot asked "I found this great spot on the beach where the seashells wash up I'll have to take you there"
"What about me? "I asked "is there someplace I'd wash up? "I joke.
"Nah you don't find diamonds on the beach"He said I blushed.
"will you two shut up ? "Jack asked us.
"What's his problem?" Spot asked me.
"Oh he's just mad cause he ain't got a goilfriend" I replied.
"Easy for you to say you'se humpin every beau in the city like some whore" Jack shot back.
I slapped him across the face.
"Don't ever call me a whore again" I snapped.
Spot lunged towards Jack but I held him back.
"Come on Spot I feel like we ain't wanted here" I said.
"Liz wait" Jack said grabbing my arm.
Spot took Jack's hand off my arm "We're leaving"
*At Brooklyn*
"Jacky boys lost his mind" Spot said as I sat on his bed.
"I know I'se wish a pigeon would tear his lips off" I said crossing my arms.
"Thank you" Spot said "You'se know we're could do it ourselves"
I laughed "Spot you know we're can't do that"
"Darn it" he said kissing me.
"Why are you'se so mean?"I asked.
"I'm not mean!" he yelled.
"Yeah ya are I'se just proved me point" I said.
"Oh now this just won't do" Spot said as he starting coming towards me.
"Spot don't" I begged.
He came towards me and started tickling me.
"Spot stop" I laughed.
He finally stopped, let me go and laid on his bed with me.
"You know" I said finally catching my breath "Stop and Spot in a sentence together is confusing the letters are just switched"
"Yeah it is" he replied.
We finally fell asleep.
