Five months later Jack woke up shaking me.

"Liz" he said "Liz wake up"

"What?" I groaned smacking him with my pillow.

"Come on ya gotta get up" he said tapping me.

"Cowboy leave me alone" I snapped.

He pulled the covers off me.

"Jack!" I scolded.

"Get up I'se leave in a few minutes" he said.

"You are?" I asked puzzled.

"Yeah didn't I'se tell you'se dat I'se was goin to Santa Fe?" he asked.

"Seriously? Spot left and now your leaving too" I said.

I got up, got dressed and headed to the train yards with Jack. The train was pulling up just as we got there. But, the train left before Jack got on.

"Jack!" I said "You'se missed the train!"

"Liz I'se ain't leavin" he said.

"Then why did you bring me here?" I asked.

"To see him" Jack said he pointed to one of the benches where the love of my life was sitting. His piercing blue eyes studying me.

I ran over to the bench as Spot stood up and I leaped into his arms.

"I'se missed you so much" I said.

"I'se missed you too me love" he said wrapping his arms around me.

"How are you here?" I asked as he put me down.

"I'se got sick of my dad's attitude towards me and I'se got sick of missin you'se. So I'se stowed away on a train coming here" he explained.

"I'se just so happy that your here" I said "Which reminds me we have to get going the fireworks start in two hours"

"Hop on" Spot said as I jumped on his back.

Jack headed to Manhattan and Spot and I  headed back to Brooklyn. Ace looked as surprised as I was when he saw Spot.

"I thought you were in Reno" Ace said to Spot.

"I'se was but now I'se back" Spot said.

"Good" Ace said "Cause your job ain't as easy as it looks and I'm not as intimidating as you"

"Yeah I know" Spot said.

"You couldn't have told me that?" Ace asked.

"Nope it just made the job more interesting" Spot replied as we went to Spot's room.

Spot got ready then he looked at me and I looked back at him. He finally got the hint and left the room. I put on a orange strapless dress that came just above my knees and white heels. I let my blonde hair fall past my shoulders. I put on my makeup and walked out the door.

"Wow" was the only word that could escape Spot's mouth.

"What?" I asked.

"You'se look like a whole new person" he ssaid.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" I asked.

"Good thing ya look beautiful" he replied.

I blushed he took my hand and we walked to the Brooklyn bridge together. Jack, Sarah, Race and the rest of the Newsies were there. Before we knew it the first firework went off it was magical. Spot put his arm around my waist and I laid my head on his shoulder. All the fireworks were so colorful. I laughed at Race who was in sunglasses and eating popcorn.

"Whoa that one looks like a flower" Race commented we shot him a look. He jumped and spilled half his popcorn when a big firework went off. That boy was crazy. Nothing could ruin the night for me or so I thought. I noticed my dad whispering to one of his Bulls. Spot was just smiling at the fireworks I could see the reflection of them in his eyes. Then, my dad whispered to another Bull. What was he planning? I noticed a little girl coming up to me.

"I lost my daddy can you help me find him?" she asked me.

"Of course" I said to her "I'll be right back" I whispered to Spot. He looked like he wanted to come with me but, I shook my head. He nodded and turned back to the fireworks. But I should've stayed with him. As I was halfway across the bridge I heard the blow of whistles. Terror spread over my face. I ran as fast as I could back to the Newsies and sure enough the Bulls had Spot.

"Let him go!" I yelled lunging towards Spot but a Bull held me back.

"You stay out of this!" My dad said pointing his finger at me.

"But, I'm going to let you choose from two options. The first option you let him live and forget you ever knew him and you'll be under house arrest until your twenty. Or the second option he dies" my dad said to me.

"The first option" I said "I choose the first option"

"Liz no" Spot said as a bull let him go.

A bull grabbed me and started to lead me to my house.

"You'se really think I'se that stupid?" I asked as I got out of the Bull's grip and kicked him in the stomach. Spot stood beside me with his slingshot and cane ready to pumble the Bulls. Some of them actually looked frightened.

"Now we're gonna let you choose from two options. The first option you leave us alone and never bother us again" I said.

"Or the second option we'se soak ya so bad you won't be able to move for a week" Spot said.

"We don't want to start anything with you kids" me dad said.

"You'se already have" I snapped.

My dad lead his Bulls and Seitz back to his office. This war is only beginning.
