How it all began

        Rachael was nervous, out of habit she played with her fingers, her dad forced her to attend this stupid charity ceremony and he wasn't sorry she wished for once that her mom was here with her. He had told her before they left the house that he wanted her to meet someone...Nicholas McKay,"He would be very good for business,you can't tell what could happen this days"the last part of his sentence was suspiciously emphasized.

"But father.... "....but he would have none of it,"shhh shhh shush now princess we would'nt want to keep your suitor waiting now would we?"he asked

"No father..."she started and then realized what he had actually said"wait what?... suitor?"she yelled frantic.

"Oh ugh...Yeah I was going to tell you...umm"he laughed nervously "well I just did"he stated in a matter of fact tone waving his hand dismissively.

"You can't keep doing this dad..I'm a grown woman..it's not fair"Rachael shouted,she was referring to the time when he had forced her to attend landmark college instead of swiftkey college that she could have killed to attend and as if that was not enough he made her study business admin instead of creative art.She felt her blood boiling,her face heating,a single tear rolled down her cheek.

"You would ruin your makeup Rachael"he had the guts to sound irritated

"I don't care...I don't care dad,you could fire me and I won't even blink an eye because I'm not going to the charity"Rachael hissed walking away angrily

"But we are talking about Nicholas McKay here princess"he shouted after her and grinned in satisfaction when he got his expected reaction, she paused in all her righteous anger.

"Nicholas McKay?"she asked turning around,then rolled her eyes"if this is your silly trick to get me to meet some lame ass guy it's not working dad"she sniffed but he knew very well that he had her interest.

"I'm actually not playing tricks here princess,Mckay wants into partnership with me,but his father insists that he gets a wife before he can let him have full ownership of baywaters"Mr Stone smirked,"and I thought well well I have a daughter who should be married"he stressed the married"and is not so I offered your hand in marriage and he was quick to accept,he wants to meet you princess and I know how much in love with him you are"he finished raising his brows repeatedly and suggestively

Rachael blushed bright red,her father was in fact right, she even had Nicholas's pictures on the walls of her room and bathroom."And if it ends up that you are lying?"she asked walking towards him.

"I'm not" he stated firmly and grabbed her hand"we have wasted enough time already"

"Wait Dad but my makeup is ruined"she was sure she had black lines of mascara running down her face,her dad eyed her mockingly as if to say "Ha Ha look what we have here I thought you weren't interested in the charity and now the mere mention of a man got you worried about your makeup...for the same event...women..."

"Your makeup is just fine princess"he finally replied ushering her into the awaiting limo but Rachael wasn't satisfied, once she sat she pulled out her phone to confirm.she could practically hear father smirking...he had won yet again.

So here she was waiting alone while her father attended to his business partners for the man she had been crushing on since the time she knew what it meant for one's heart to flutter and legs to go liquid at the sight of another,and just as she was about to rip her fingers apart she caught sight of him and he was actually....staring at her..
