Sunday

Night

The sun started to fall slowly just as I finished my English, relieved that the constant scribbles and muttering swears in frustration were finally over, and I could slam the book and copy shut and toss them far away for the night.

Believe me, trying to teach yourself is a lot harder then it looks, and I don't understand what I'm doing half the flipping time.

Kip disappeared a while ago, and I knew he was off somewhere to look for food. I don't know how he learnt, but I guess we're both similar, because we're both self taught, even if his is learning how to kill prey and mine is learning how to use proper grammar and if 20 - 13 = Y then what's the value of the Y, dumb stuff like that.

Honestly, even though I claim to hate doing work, I need it, because with the way things are going, it looks like I don't have much of a future, and I need to go to collage somehow.

I know I won't get there though.

I climbed up the tree, and used the left over rope to tie myself to it, tighter then before, even if it was uncomfortable. I couldn't fall again, I needed to be safe.

Just as it starts to get dark completely, Kip emerges from the trees, a look of triumph on his face with a piece of meat in between his teeth, his jaw straining to hold it, it was that big.

I was tired, and even though it wasn't that long of a day, I was worn out from thinking about everything and those guys too much, stress overcoming me.

But as I closed my eyes to sleep, I felt something jerk me awake.
Fear.
I was scared.
I almost died this morning and I was absolutely terrified of using a half broken rope to keep me secured, even if it was pretty long.

I slowly untied the rope and jumped down from the tree, where Kip was finishing up his dinner. I lay down, just as he went off to the lake to drink some water, clean or not.

When he returned, I closed my eyes and rested my head on his head, and wrapped my arms around his neck in a cuddle, fearless. He was gentle, and allowed me to sleep there.

And it was far more comfy then sleeping up high on a rickety old tree, that's for sure.

Morning

I woke up bright and early, the sun shining and birds singing, like in those romantic movies, and it was warm, seeing as it was the middle of Summer.

Kip was already jumping around playfully, a butterfly at his nose.

I grinned at the sight, before yawning loudly and stretching, the day ready to be explored. But there was something missing -

Breakfast

"Oh damn." I mumbled to myself, looking at all the bags we had to see that there was no decent food in there to eat for breakfast, and there was only a tiny amount of toothpaste left and I was getting hungry and -

"HEY YOU!"

I quickly looked around me, sitting up, to see the last thing I ever wanted to see.
