Thursday
Midday
"What are we gonna do?"
We were currently lying on the bright green grass in Caspar's back garden. The weather was still outrageously hot, the heat scorching. Despite the lovely day, my mood was the exact opposite.
"I-I don't know."
Caspar hadn't really known what to do or say, but he did give me somewhat comforting words and a hug. His hugs were nice.
Caspar's mum, Emily, was also really kind, and once Caspar had chucked me new clothes to change into (God, how will I ever repay him?) and brushed my hair, I seemed a lot cleaner and open.
I ran my fingers through the bright grass, tugging at different strands to distract myself slightly, admiring the colourful splashes of white and yellow.
"He can't have gone too far Joe, not unless he was, you know, taken away."
That made me think. Who would take a tiger for gods sake? How did Kip even leave without me noticing? It must have been the middle of the night. How did I not wake up?
"Joe, I'll help you look for him, alrigh? But I can't do much."
That did make me smile. I was picking pits of grass and throwing them around, angry at myself. How did I even manage to lose him?
Caspar pulled me into a hug then, and while it wasn't much, I felt a little bit better.
Friday
Morning
Caspar and I hadn't really come up with a proper plan on how we were gonna get Kip back. We didn't have a clue really.
"Sure, he has to be somewhere? Is there anywhere you think he might have gone?"
I sighed, my head hurting slightly from overthinking. There's got to be someplace he went to. But, I had no clue.
"He left during the night, that's all I know. So I haven't any idea." I told Caspar, feeling like my brain was going to ooze out of my head, spewing soggily out of my ears. I really couldn't think.
"Maybe he was taken! Kidnapped, d'you think?"
I didn't exactly know what to think, but the idea didn't seem so foreign or completely insane. Kind of possible, actually.
But who kidnaps a tiger? Who has the fucking ability to kidnap a tiger? Silently?!? And not get killed?!? Or eaten alive?!?
Once again, I was left clueless. But, Kip was gentle, soft. He wasn't raised the right way; and despite the horrid thought of it, I was beginning to think that yes, he was kidnapped.
"Maybe." I murmured, biting my lip as I cast away my eyes to the ground. "Maybe. I'm not sure. Who would have taken him? I've been here years without anyone suspecting anything - who would know now?"
Caspar paled a little at that. "Maybe the video I uploaded?" He mumbled, seeming guilty. I bit my lip again. He was genuinely upset about that, and I was glad he leaned from his mistakes, but by putting Kip in danger? I wasn't so sure how I felt.
