Aphmau was staring deeply at a poster in her room when Lucinda called, which made her jump quite a bit. "APH!" Lucinda yelped as she picked up. "How are we going to make the costumes? I can cover four people, but what about the others?"
"Oh no!" Aphmau moaned. "What do we do? The only one who I know can make any type of clothing is Kawaii-chan and I don't think that's enough! Lucinda, could you ask Hyr-"
"No!" Lucinda cut her off sharply. "I... am not asking her for help. This is, mm, something we do by ourselves. Besides, it can't be that hard to sew some cloth together... Mm... The problem, though, is that we don't have enough people... You see, only Kawaii-chan and I can work on this... Everyone else is just... mm, rather useless, if you... catch my drift."
"But..." Aphmau muttered, suddenly thinking of something. "We could get Kawaii-chan to teach us, can't we? Maybe some of the others might already know a bit - you never know!"
Lucinda agreed and hung up to surf the internet for sewing instructions. It didn't seem too hard, anyhow. Lucinda thought, I mean, it's really just another crafts project! And I'm rather good at those, I should think.
After reading up on sewing instructions, Lucinda texted the others and they all made their way to Aphmau's house. Sewing couldn't be that hard, could it...
Screw that. Only one costume had been completed... One costume, two hours, three trips to the fabric store, four guys (Zane and Travis didn't show up), five girls (Aphmau, Katelyn, Kawaii-chan, Nicole, and Lucinda), and about SIX HUNDRED slices and droplets of lost blood later, everyone was tired.
Notice the blood loss and the single costume completed.
"Urgh," groaned Garroth, whose arms were covered in smiley-face band-aids. "Why is this so hard? How many times am I going to be stabbed by needles and - not 'or' - sliced by scissors?"
"You think that's bad?" protested Katelyn. "Kawaii-chan ALMOST STABBED ME IN THE EYE with her needles! And you complain about a couple tiny nicks?"
"A couple?!" Garroth yelped. "Are you-"
"Just be quiet, Garroth-kun," advised Kawaii-chan. "And work on your costume. Garroth-kun, you and Laurance-kun have the easiest costumes. Lucinda-kun, can you cover you, Katelyn-sama, Zane-kun, and Travis-kun?"
"Mm, yes, but," Lucinda said, pausing for consideration. "No more complete costumes. At least, I can help fix some of the others, but I can't make more than four complete costumes. So... let's start working, mmkay?"
"Look!" Aphmau called to the others. "I think I did pretty well with my costume! I really like it! I think I did well."
Kawaii-chan immediately ran over and began fangirling with Aphmau, while everyone else just cried over their bloody fingers. It's honestly amazing how much blood you can get from you fingers with needles. Also scary. And red.
"AARGH!" Dante suddenly screamed. He jumped up from where he just sat. He turned to glare at Nicole, who smirked and shrugged. Dante lectured, "Why did you put pins into the couch? My butt.... THEY STABBED ME IN THE BUTT!!"
Everyone burst out laughing, except Dante, who scowled and carefully sat down, after scouting the seat for rogue pins planted by the unwary hand... waiting for the oblivious butt to descend upon them. The pins. Not the hand.
After a while, the girls got the hang of the whole, needles-sewing-machine-other-plasticky-materials-scissors-blood thing. Lucinda managed to get her and Katelyn's costumes done - the sewing magic was a little awkward at first. Lucinda's costume hadn't sewn up the sides right, the first time.
