I felt a deep sense of contentment as my plan began to unravel so delightfully well.

"No progress yet concerning our Queen, my lord." The man before him said, kneeling in front of him.

"Of course not, it isn't yet time."

"My lord, if I may ask when will we get to meet our Queen?" I walked over to him while he kept his head bent, keeping his eyes downcast.

"The Queen will wake when she is ready. But for now, we need patience for her arrival. Don't forget that," he bowed his head even lower.

"I am sorry, my lord. I will not show such imprudence again." I waved a hand in a dismissive gesture.

"No matter. I want you to go and take Brass to keep an eye on your Queen's little toy. Report everything you see right back to me," I ordered.

"Yes, my lord." I smiled in satisfaction.

"You are dismissed." He bowed and stood up, leaving the room without another word.

I walked over to stand by the window, the dark woods illuminated by the glowing moon.

"He is so dull. Never once has he been defiant," I sighed and turned around to grab the glass of wine from the desk, the bloody liquid dancing in the light. "Not like Kei. She was always unruly."

I took a sip, the wine crisp and exquisite on my tongue.

"Yet you continue to use him," Killian stated.

"Of course, a King cannot rule without his loyal subjects."

"Then stop complaining."

"I am not complaining. I am simply making an observation. Besides, I can tell that our Queen is about to wake from her beauty sleep." I stared out the dark night once again.

"Don't worry my little flower, you'll be in my arms once again where you belong," I felt myself purr at the thought of us lying together in bed, her soft body pushed against mine.

"But she is not ours," Killian snarled and I gripped the wine glass with a tight grip.

"She will be Killian, and when she is, she cannot run from us no longer." My voice was resolute, and it showed just how much resolve I had to get what I wanted.

"I am done trying to convince you otherwise, Leon." He spoke no more after that and I dismissed him easily.

As I took another slow sip, I felt a tug in my soul, a pull from a connection that only he and his queen shared. A slow smile formed and I turned to stare back out into the silver night.

"It is about time for us to begin our revolution."
