"It's just weird. Excrete," - Ryker Dare
~~~~~~~~~~
This was the only place I ever wanted to be: Ryker's arms.
I snuggled in closer to his chest, sighing happily with my eyes still closed.
"Now that was an unforgettable night," Rei piped in cheerfully, breaking the peaceful silence. I chuckled quietly and felt Ryker stir underneath my cheek, his chest falling and rising with his even breaths.
I opened my eyes to see the morning sun shining brightly, erasing last night's hidden desires to reveal our new beginnings. I looked up to see Ryker's sleeping face tilted towards me, his onyx black hair gleaming from the morning sun rays.
If I was being completely honest, a sleeping man's face is the best view in the world. Especially this man who tends to frown on a lot of occasions. Sometimes caused by me, I'll admit. But now as he slept, he had no worries and frustrations, and instead enjoyed the peace that sleep could offer.
I smiled serenely and stretched my limbs on top of his lethargically. I felt his large hand twitch on my bare back, giving me warning that he was awakening.
"Morning King," I smiled as he slowly opened his eyes in an adorable fashion. He returned my smile with a lazy one of his own.
"Morning, love. How long have you been up?" His voice had that irresistible deepness that occurs when one is awakening, and it sounded absolutely delightful coming from him. I shrugged and sat up slightly on my arms, still lying on his chest.
"For an hour or so." He wrinkled an eyebrow.
"And what have you been doing this whole time?" he questioned, and I smiled mischievously.
"Oh, you know. The normal creepy staring-at-you-while-sleeping thing. Seriously, I creeped out on you so hard it's almost unbelievable." He laughed and the sound made warmth spread through me, the vibrations from his chest inviting me to join.
"So if you wake up and catch me staring, there won't be any hard feelings?" I pursed my lips in fake thought at his question.
"Hmm. I guess not. But make sure not to stare too hard or else you might see the line of drool that I excrete from my mouth." Now it was his turn to give me a strange look.
"That word is weird," he blurted.
I frowned at him curiously. "What? Drool?" He shook his head, the action tossing his hair precariously around. Which, I couldn't help notice was adorably stuck up in some places. Man, he was just too much.
"No. Excrete."
"Why, what's wrong with it?" He shrugged his shoulders, the light favoring the golden tan over my white-as-a-ghost skin.
"It's just weird. Excrete." I threw my head back and laughed.
"You're such a kid, Ry." I looked down at him and the look he was giving me caused heat to flow through my limbs like hot mercury. I swallowed hard and his dark eyes watched with a silent predatory gleam. "Umm, King. I'm not a rabbit."
The laugh he emitted was more of a hungry growl. "Maybe not, but you're playing a dangerous game, Lune." I scoffed and rolled my eyes, my lips tilting up slightly.
"You forget, King. I am Kei Valancia. Your mate and soon-to-be fae queen." Unimpressed, he simply raised an eyebrow.
"And?" I pouted and stuck my tongue at him childishly.
"Of course you wouldn't be impressed," I mutter petulantly. "But I bet any guy on the street would think I'm a catch." I got the desired response and chuckled lightly at his new tension.
