"Oh, you wanna go you wingless Tooth Fairy," - Rei

"Leon Grayson." If possible, his arms tightened even closer to me, hitching me up more of his chest.
He kept quiet as he continued to ascend the stairs, his whole body a mass of tension.
"I told you we should have waited until we got into the bedroom," Rei grumbled at me. I gave a little shrug and rested my cheek against his heart, hearing the steady rhythmic beat drum a permanent staccato with my own.
"You're right-you ruined the moment." I looked up to see his pensive words become softened with a small smile. His dark eyes were warm but guarded as his thoughts churned. With caution, I opened the mind link to test the waters. He let me in easily, and I could see his inner turmoil like it was my own.
I closed my eyes, letting his ceaseless love for me wash over like a summer breeze. It warmed me from the inside and it created a sense of security that only he could provide. It was so cozy in fact, that I felt an itching sense of drowsiness starting to scratch at my consciousness.
"You're not going to go into a fit of rage will you?" I murmur quietly, my eyes still closed.
"Why do you think that I will?" he murmured right back. I scoffed when I opened my eyes, looking up at him. I noticed that he had come to a stop, standing in the middle of the gloomy hallway. But it didn't hide his dark eyes from me at all.
"Anything that is linked to Leon usually puts you in a bad mood, no matter the time or place."
"Can you really blame me?" he grunted and moved forward, taking two long strides down the hall and kicking open the bedroom door. "You would think he would put you in a poorer mood than me, considering..." He let the sentence go into the sea of unspeakable truths.
"Considering he killed me," I whispered, feeling the muscles of his chest bunch up underneath my palm.
"Yeah, that." Those said words barely escaped his clenched teeth. "I have trouble finding him... likable." I snorted and bit back a grin.
"I hardly doubt there is anybody that doesn't hate Leon in one way, shape, or form." He rumbled a laugh and set me down gently on the bed, pulling the covers back and tucking them in like he would to a child.
Once finished, he kicked off his shoes and settled next to me on the covers, lifting one arm and I silently lifted my head so he could put it underneath.
So much comfier than the pillow in my opinion.
I felt the flexing of his muscles as he shifted again, getting comfortable. As he settled on his side, he laid his other arm on my chest, pulling me closer.
He nuzzled my hair and let out a slow breath, finally relaxing. "Tell me." His words were whispered against my temple and I snuggled deeper into his embrace.
"When Rosalinda took full control-" I heard a distinct snicker in my mind, reminding me that she was now a presence that will no longer be ignored "- it was just Rei and I. It happened right before I was able to regain control." At this point, he began combing his fingers through my hair, unsure if it was for my benefit or his for comfort.
I paused before continuing to explain. He was quiet the whole time I unfolded the scenario, letting it play in front of his eyes in great detail. When finished, he didn't say a word. I didn't know if I should have been worried or not.
"Do you think he has anything to do with my grandfather's illness?" I ask. He hummed before answering.
"I don't know, maybe. What he gave away infers that he may be involved in some way, but how, that's what we should look for after meeting him ourselves."
