Chapter 28

"Mom, please, act normal. We don't want to scare him, do we?" I told my mom. Graham was coming over to my house for dinner with my family. This was literally the first time I had brought a boy for dinner.

Was I nervous?

Hell yeah.

I mean, my family tend to be extra-awkward when we have guests, so this was about to get really interesting.

"But we are normal, sweetie," My dad told me holding a huge grin.

I rolled my eyes, "Yeah, sure. Just try not to freak the heck out of him."

They both nodded while putting the last touches to the dinner table.

"Aye, sister, I thought you had a crush on that Carter boy, what's up with him?" Wes said while walking down the stairs.

"That's none of your buisness, but let's say I kind of lost interest in him..." I cleared my throat, "Talking about crushes, what's up between you and Lea?"

Wes gasped, "W-What? What did she said? I mean, did she said she has a crush on me or...? Uh, nevermind, actually. Why would I even care?"

I raised an eyebrow and my mom laughed, "Honey, judging by the way you just blushed... It's pretty obvious you like her," She said.

"You nasty people go stick your noses on your own buisness or I will-"

Ding dong

"Prince Charming in the nest, I repeat, Prince Charming in the nest. Everyone get to your positions," My mom yelled.

Yeah, mom, sure as hell he didn't hear you.

I walked to the door and as soon as I opened it a hand grabbed me by my wrist and pulled me outside closing the door behind me.

All I could see now was Graham's worried face, "I brought flowers, I really didn't know if bringing them would be appropiate, is it appropiate?" He let out breathlessly.

I chuckled looking at the bunch of Lilies he had brought, "They're perfect. Now let's get inside before my mom starts getting wrong thoughts."

I opened the door once again and smiled widely at my parents and my brother at the same time I held hands with Graham.

"So you must be Graham Fisher? My little girl's boy, right?" My mom started.

"I'm pretty sure you're right, ma'am," Graham answered politely while letting go of my hand and shaking mom's, dad's and Wes's. The fact he was actually meeting my family made my stomach fill up with butterflies.

"Laura, can you go get a bucket and fill it with water so we can put these lovely flowers inside?" She continued. I knew what she was trying to do, she was trying to send me away for a bit while she talked to Graham. And this was so not going to happen.

"Alright, I'm taking Graham with me, though. This way I can also show him the house," I told her.

Dad and Wes were watching the scene amused which made me go crazy in the inside, couldn't they at least help me out a bit?

"Sure, sure, honey. Just make sure you both lovebirds come back in less than twenty minutes," My dad pointed.

"Thanks," I mumbled and grabbed Graham by the forearm, "Now let's go."

We walked up the stairs and I guided him to my room, when we were finally inside I closed the door behind him.

"My family can be really weird sometimes," Was the first thing I said. But I guess Graham didn't listen to me, he was busy taking a look at my bedroom. (Thank god I had cleaned it up that morning.)
