Mermaid Out of Water (EDITING)

Chapter 2

"Hey person wake up.." I felt someone shaking me so I popped my head up. "W-what's going on? W-where am I?" I said taking in deep breaths. "You're at the beach." The guy said. "B-but oh uh" I saw the guy get up, reaching his hand out. "Thanks" I said grabbing it and standing up. "Well I gotta go see ya" I saw him run up to probably his girl friend and they walked down the shore.

I slowly got up and walked back to my house. My mom can't know I was at the beach. She would kill me. When I finally got back I opened the door a crack to see if she had left yet. I didn't see anyone so I crawled in. "Where in the world were you??" I jumped as I heard my mothers voice. "I was out getting one of my uh books from Alice" I lied. "Mmm-hmm" she wasn't convinced. "What ever. I'm gonna go hang out with Liam now" I stuck out my tongue and ran out side and to Liam's house.

I knocked on his door and he opens it. "River hey what's up?" He asked leaning against the rim of the door. "I went swimming!!" I yelled jumping up and down. "Wow sounds exciting.. How'd you like it?" He chuckled. "It was amazing! It was like I was meant to swim!!" I didn't tell him about the strange things happening to me. I wouldn't know how he would react. All I want to do right now is go for a swim.

"Let's go Liam! Let's go swimming!!" I jumped up and down. "Oh alright" he said. "Meet me at the beach in 5 minutes!!" I yelled running to my house. I noticed my mom had left do I went upstairs to my room and grabbed a towel. Since I already had my swim suit underneath my clothes I raced to the beach.

I saw Liam in his swim shorts in the water. I quickly took off my shirt and shorts revealing my swim suit and ran to the water. "3...2...1...go!!!!" I ran into the water, dunking my head under. We swam around for a bit and every now and then Liam would go up for air. It's not even that hard to hold your breath under water. I've been holding it for like 5 minutes now.

I started getting that same tingling feeling. I looked up at Liam and he looked and me confused. I quickly turned around heading to the girls change room. I sat in one of the stales and my legs felt like they were burning up. I couldn't help but cry at the pain I was in. I looked closely through my watery eyes and saw large blue spots forming on my legs. I scream at what I saw.

"River??!! River are you ok?!" Liam ran into the girls change room and started knocking on my door. "River what's wrong? Come on out!" "N-no" I said through my cries. I was scared, worried and in pain. "River open this door!" He yelled. "No.. I'm fine" I mumbled. All of a sudden I heard the old routing door break down smacking me in the face. Great, more pain :( I felt the door being lefties off of me and Liam stood there.

"W-what is it Liam? Is this suppose to happen?" "River what are you talking about?" I wiped my tears away and looked down at my legs. The blue spots had disappeared and the pain had flushed away.

I stood up and felt cold water in between my toes. I looked down to see a puddle of water. I then walked out. "Uhh river what is that?" I turned around to Liam and he pointed to my legs. The blue spots had come back and there were numbness in my legs so I fell to the ground. Pain showered over

my legs once again and it was lights out.

"So doc what is it?" I heard a familiar voice say. " uhh she seems fine. I'm not to sure what it is. But just keep an eye on her Liam" I started to open my eyes up and saw a man with glasses and grey hair right in front of me the I turned my head to see a boy with bleach blond hair, Liam. " what's going on??" I asked seeming a little frightened. "I'll explain later, thanks doc. I'll be sure to tell her mother" I then saw the man walk out the door.

"Liam what's going on??" I asked. "I called the doctor about your allergic reaction." He replied. "What allergic reaction?" I asked curiously. "Your legs, they grew blue spots, so when you passed out I took you quickly to the hospital" what will my mom say about all this. Oh I hope she doesn't find out. "What about my mom?" I asked him. "Just don't tell her. Or else she'll know something is up. Can you uhh stand up?" He was so concerned. "I I'll try" I grabbed his wrist to help boost me up but it just hurt even more. "Owww!!" I yelled and fell to the ground. "Never mind don't. I'll go back at my house and grab my grandmas old wheelchair." The next thing I knew he was already out the door.
