Mermaid Out of Water (EDITING)

Chapter 5

Sorry i haven't updated it MONTHS.. I've just been busy with work and haven't really had time to update... Sorry, forgive me? :)

I ran into the kitchen and felt hungry for some sardines. I usually hate sea food but this mermaid thing affected my appetite. I ran to sit in the living room and turned on river monsters. Well that's weird, this one just so happens to be the mermaid one. It made me feel sick to my stomach so I quickly turned it off. I felt very dehydrated and my legs started to burn up. I quickly got up and ran out the door.

Brandon was right I really needed to get back to the beach. I just hope to god he isn't there.

When I finally got there, my legs started burning again so I ran into the water. My tail then started forming.

I swam back to the bottom and lied down. I closed my eyes and used some sea sponge as a pillow. Then something grabbed me again and it was Brandon. He laughed when he saw me frightened.

"Let go of me!!" I yelled. "Why are you freaking out at me?? ". " because you're stalking me!!" I yelled at him. "River, I don't know any other person like me. Anyways you need to know all the things of being a merperson" were him and I really the only merpeople out there? Nah that's impossible. "Fine tell me. But I have to leave soon, I wanna hang out with my friend, Alice" I said making an excuse so I could leave.

"Ok so first things first, even if one tiny drop lands on you, well your screwed so you'll have to book it in the water or somewhere you'll be alone. You will have to go into the water at least 3 times a day or else you will dry out and you won't be able to breath. Also try to keep this a secret. if not, we could me the next crazy experiment. So why don't you tell me about yourself." He looked at me and smiled.

"Well my name is river aqua Thompson. I'm 15 years old and I go to summer side high school. I am a Christian and go to church every Sunday and sometimes Thursday nights when we have youth group. My mom is a nurse and my dad left when I was 8. I only have 2 friends, Alice and uh well I think Liam." "Aren't we friend?" He asked "well we kinda just met" I replied and I saw him frown. "Well that's pretty much it. But you didn't really tell me anything about yourself." He put his finger out for me to wait.

He quickly swam up to the surface and I followed. We went up for air. "K so my names Brandon sea McDonald. I'm 16. I actually don't go to school so it's like summer all of the time. I've always lived by the sea considering my parents and I would always go sailing. But before I became a fish boy my parent went missing. So I've pretty much been alone until I found you." He smiled again.

"Oh..." "Yep. So whatcha wanna do?" We started swimming back. "Well actually... Uhh I'm gonna head home, sorry.." I told him and he frowned."oh alright. But don't forget your gonna have to come back to the beach soon" he said and I crawled out of the water. After about 5 minutes later my legs came back.

"Bye Brandon!!" I waved to him while leaving. "I'll see you later!!" He yelled after and I heard a splash.

When I finally got to my place I noticed my mom was home so I opened the door and I saw her taking a nap on the couch. I tiptoed to my room and looked at my phone to see if anyone texted me. There was one from my mom, probably when she was in town. There was also one from Alice.

I then looked at the text from Alice and she asked me if I wanted to come to a party with her. Something about her cousin turning 16. I said yes right away.

"Mom I'm going to a party at Alice's house!!" I yelled. Oh ya she was napping. "Sorry..." I whispered. I then ran down the street. When I got to Alice's house I knocked on the door. She immediately answered and gave me a hug.

"Hey!! You ready to party!!" She yells. "Yes!!" "Ok follow me!!" She then grabbed my arm and we ran to the next block.

"Here we are" she smiled. "Awesome" I replied and we opened the door. There were lots on people I don't know. "Is Liam here?" I asked and she nodded. "I invited him so he should be here" she told me. "Ok thanks." I started walking around to see where he would be.

I finally spotted him talking to one of his friends. "Liam we need to talk" I said. "Not right now" he replied and went back to talking to Trevor, I think thats what his name was.

I suddenly felt very hydrated. I was sweating like crazy and felt extremely hot. The room started to spin and I fell down with a thud. "River!!!" I heard Liam yell. But it was all darkness after that.

Liam's POV

"River!!" I yelled when I saw her fall to the ground. She was still breathing but she was burning. Was this something to do with her mermaid problems? "Watch out!!" I heard Trevor yell and he had a bucket of water in his hands. I tried to stop him but he throw the water over her. "Noooo!!!" I heard a guy yell. He then picked river up and ran upstairs.
