I sit in my seat reading my book, 'Unenchanted', silently waiting for Mrs Davis, my social studies teacher, to enter the room.
The class, as usual, was playing up. Tossing paper around the room and sitting on desks.
I sit at the back, as usual.
Today I chose to wear black. I have a black singlet top, tied at the bottom making it a little crop shirt exposing a little of my stomach, my signature grey beanie on my slightly fuzzy hair, a black sort of see through cardigan, black skinny jeans and my amazing white converse.
As soon as Mrs Davis steps in the classroom, everyone settles down and stares at the old, slender teacher. She has her silver hair tied up into a neat bun, with wisps of hair poking out were the hair meets the forehead.
She slowly pushes her glasses further up her nose and glares at the class.
I slide my bookmark inside the book and close it, slipping it gently inside my bag.
Mrs Davis narrows her eyes at the seat behind me.
Everyone turns there heads to find the seat unoccupied.
I know Drake is in my social studies class and seeing as every other seat is taken, he is either late or ditched.
The guy has to keep his bad boy reputation somehow.
I shrug my shoulders and wait for the teacher to give us stacks of homework.
She sits down in her chair and lifts up a stack of paper.
The whole class groans.
"Tsk tsk. I have a fun assignment for you guys." She says cheerfully.
The class scoffs.
"Yeah right. Your idea of fun is everyone getting detention for not handing in the huge amount of homework you give us!" Jerry yells from the back.
So maybe he made a fair point.
"Jerry! You have two warnings. One left." She says sternly. "Okay, so your task is I'm going to put you into pairs and you and your partner are going to learn about each other. By socialising outside of those mini device things." She scrunches up her face in disgust.
"They're called phones!" Orlando yells from beside me.
The class erupts in laughter.
After processing what Mrs Davis had said the class begins smiling and nodding at who they want to be with.
Jerry and Frank nodded at each other, Amanda and Caitlin smile at each other and Olivia and Orlando wink at each other, following with a few other gesture from the class.
Mrs Davis seems to have noticed this because a wide smirk appears on her face. "And" she says as the class snaps there attention back to her. "You will be boy girl pairs that I will pick." She raises an eyebrow to see if anyone will protest but they just sat silently in their seats.
At that exact moment the classroom door swings open and a tall, masculine figure steps in.
I notice from the shaggy brown hair and electric blue eyes who it is.
Drake.
Mrs Davis scowls at Drake.
"Sorry I'm late Mrs D!" He exclaims, clearly not feeling sorry at all.
