3 years later

"Drake, where are you taking me?" I ask, holding his hands that are covering my eyes.

I feel his warm breath fanning my neck then it warms my ear. His lips brush my ear. "Always the impatient one, are we?" He whispers in a husky, low voice. I smile.

Gosh, I do love him. I've been with this man for three years now. I remember him asking me to be his girlfriend at the senior dance. How he had decorated a gazebo with candles, danced with me and asked me. I melted at the thought. I have no idea what I did to deserve him but it must have been a saint act for him to be my boyfriend. His loyalty, honesty, love and admiration for me never falters, as mine never falters for him.

"Open your eyes now," the hands that covered my eyes are now removed off my skin, the cool air brushing my eyelids.

I open my eyes and gasp. "D-Drake. This is the swing." My eyes well with tears. It's the beautiful flower swing that he showed me all those years back. The rope is a little more older looking but the flowers haven't budged, in fact, I'm pretty sure there are more. A little picnic blanket is spread out on the floor with different foods and drinks sprawled all over the area. An acoustic guitar lays on the rug. I turn to look at him. His arms wrap around my waist and I lean into him, breathing in his scent. A tear slides down my cheek. Just one. But it's not a sad tear. "Drake..." My mouth quivers as I fight back the tears.

He captures my lips in a soft sweet kiss. He pulls away and looks into my eyes for a moment before pull my hand. "C'mon." He brings me to the rug. He takes a seat near the guitar and I sit in front of him. He lifts the guitar to his lap and I stare at him with a curious gaze. He clears his throat and strums the chords on the guitar. He waggled his eyebrows in the way he does when he's about to sing or play something R rated.

"Tell me girl
Could you ride with the top gone?
Could you come and keep me
Up all night long?
Could you go and make it pop like a pop song?
And if it gets a little rough
Could you hoe it down?," I look at him as he professionally plays the guitar. I know the song, I know every song he knows. He looks at me expectantly just before the chorus. "Sing," He whispers.

"Say-ay-ay
That you're down to roll-oll-oll
Now we're stayin' up late-ate-ate
Cause you already know
Like Oh
When the lights get turned down low
Wanna see you lose control
I just need to know that
Baby you could ride with me
Like Oh," He smiles at me, my voice - singing close to a B - complimenting his own. He winks at me when all the dirty lyrics begin playing.

Once he finishes, he places the guitar down and stares at me. "You like it?" He asks, waggling his eyebrows.

I give him a gentle punch to the shoulder. "You are such a perv, you know that, right?"

He shrugs. "Only for you," He points to the food. "You hungry?"

I nod and look at the fruit, cake and soft drinks on the mat. He pulls out two plates from the picnic basket and hands me one.

We sit and eat, holding a nice interesting conversation. After we both graduated, Erin, Matt, Chase, Drake and I all went to the same university to do a music course. Brian and Cassy are both studying at the same university. Brian is doing a doctor course and Cassy is doing a writing course.

"Wanna swing?" He asks, as I finish the last of my chocolate coated strawberries. I savour the sweet flavour and nod.

He gets up and holds out a hand, which I gladly take. I sit down on the familiar swing. A relief and strong energy hums through my body as I grip the rope on either side of me. The swing back and forth slowly. I close my eyes and soak in all the moons white light.

I don't even realise I've stopped swinging until I hear Drake voice coming from in front of me. "Blossom?" My head snapped down, my body jolting in surprise.

"Yeah..?"

He gets down on one knee, his hand clutching a velvet red box. Don't come to conclusions. Don't come to conclusions...

"Evangeline, when I first met you, I was fascinated how you were so closed off, yet confident at times, how you used to run from me whenever we had traded three words," I giggle at this, tears pricking in my eyes again. "What I didn't have before you, was a beautiful smile to look at daily, someone who would laugh at my lame jokes, someone to sing my songs with.

"I love how you always see the good in people, how you are always willing to help someone, even those who hurt you, you always smile at them.

"Evangeline, I've loved you for so long since I first laid eyes on you. Guess it took me a while to figure it out, though. Your calm and caring nature, how you always smile at me even in the darkest of time. Evangeline Roman, I'm asking you this with all my heart, would you please marry me?" He asks. I sit in pure, raw shock. Tears spill from my eyes. He opens the box and a beautiful little ring, with three little diamond stones sett up in the middle so that the middle diamond is slightly bigger then the other two on either side or it. The band is white gold.

My eyes stare at the beautiful ring and then I look at Drake, deeply into his beautiful blue eyes. They hold fear; fear of rejection, joy: joy of knowing me, and anticipation.

I nod my head and smile so hard that my cheeks hurt. After quickly swiping my tears away, I lunge for him and wrap my arms around his neck. "Yes! Yes, Drake, I will marry you!" I plant a quick kiss on his lips.

He lets go of a breath he must've been holding. He laughs, "Do you want the ring?" He jokes.

I laugh and hold my hand out. He slips the ring on my ring finger and after he does I tackle him in another hug. He responds immediately, wrapping his arms around my torso and lifts me on his lap, cradling me. I nuzzle my head into this neck. "I love you." I whisper.

"I love you, Blossom." He plants kisses along my jawline, trailing them to my lips and kisses me long and hard, pushing all his feeling and emotions he has for me in that one kiss.

And that's how the night ends, me on his lap, him holding me close to him, like if he lets go, I'll disappear.

A/N
Hey again! Double update!!! Sorry. I've finished the book already and it's taking all my willpower NOT to post every chapter. Only this one and another one and we are finished. The book will be over. But, there is a sneak peek into the sequel of Secret Mind called 'Secret Talent'. It's about the offspring of Evangeline and Drake.

Trust me when I say, the epilogue is really short. Like 500 words or something. But I wanted to just do a little filler and happy ending.

How was the proposal? Did you think it was cute, cliché or both? And, they haven't revised that park since the first time Drake took Evangeline out for the project, believe it or not. The place just slipped their minds I suppose. But hey! I don't know what goes through their heads 'cause I'm not the author of this story or anything...

Love y'all! Stay goofy😘
