*Adriana's POV*
I pace the deck of the Cullen residence in anger. Every step warns the rest to stay at bay as my mind races through every possibility, every tactic, used to get the rose engraved into Ryan's neck. It's simply impossible.

"Adrianna..." Carlisle calls unsurely.

"What?" I snap. Growling slightly. I see him gasp at my reaction as he stares at me in fear and wonder. I then realise that my wolf eyes might have been showing and quickly calm down for them to go back to their smokey grey.

Gathering himself, Carlisle avoids looking into my eyes as he speaks. "Ryan has calmed down but he is unconscious."

After seeing the rose engraved at the back of his neck, I left Ryan's side and told Carlisle to calm him. I can't risk absorbing his pain. That would mean endangering myself and my pack... Whats left of my pack at least... I would have absorbed his pain if my life would have only been at risk. But nothing is ever that simple. The simplest of acts (to sacrifice yourself as the Alpha for the safety of your pack) has been made difficult... I cant allow myself to repeat the mistake I made all those years ago when I was a pup.

In our pack, a member would be seen as a pup until they lived for 30 human years, afterwards they are adults. All the pack members here are pups and don't understand the world as broadly as my brother and I do. They do not know many things and I intend to keep it that way unless it directly affects them. I just hope the news those two bring does not involve the pack here or even these vampires. I don't want to voice out my mistakes to them in order to explain what all this means. I don't even want to explain how I know of all this, even Adrian does not know of all the things I know of. Ryan is far more innocent than us twins were. And I always hoped he remained like that but that mark... It hurts to see my cousin in his current state but at this moment I'm more angry than anything else. How in hell's name did that get on his neck?

I nod in acknowledgement to what Carlisle had said. "That's better then being dead." I mutter to myself but unfortunately someone's mate hears me.

"How can you say that?!" Renesmee shrieks in disbelief. I can feel her anger radiating off her which explains her boldness in talking to me in that tone. Her bond through Ryan allows me to feel her strong emotions and if she accepts me as her leader then I would be bonded to her as I am with Leah.

"Your cousin falls to the floor is complete pain, in complete agony. And instead of healing him like you had done last time, you stand outside. Pacing up and down. Waiting for what exactly?!" She walks closer to me as her voice rises gradually with her each step.

I tilt my head to the side as I lean against the wooden railing and watch her. Folding my hands across my chest, I look at her blankly. My lack of responce and attitude seems to irritate her as she begins to grit her teeth and clench her first tightly on either side of her.

"Say something!" She commands. A low growl emits itself from my throat at her disrespectful tone. She is shocked for a fraction of a second but that doesn't stop her as she becomes more angry.

"Don't you growl at me! I have done nothing wrong. Is it so wrong for me to care about my mate?! I want answers. I need answers. And you will give them to me now!" She hisses. She stands directly in front of me. My hands twitch slightly, itching to slap her for her disrespectful manners but I know better than to do that. I wouldn't hurt Ryan like that.

Renesmee looks up at me since I am taller than her. A small smirk displays itself on my lips as I muse over how dominant I am over her. She hisses angrily at me before I sense something aimed at my cheek. Automatically I grab onto it, inches before it can touch me. I bring it in front of me and see it's Renesmee's hand. She gasps loudly. I guess she wasn't expecting me to catch her hand before she slapped me.
