My Lullaby: Chapter Three

It had been more than thirteen hours since the window had been broken. She had been woken up early that morning by her dad yelling at her about the window. She mumbled out the excuse that one of the people at her school had down it and had ran away before she could catch them. Her step-dad didn't believe her and became so mad she wasn't surprised what he ended up doing. Her mother was though and they argued the rest of the morning will she tried to sleep a little more, but the pain and noise kept her from any peace. So she got herself ready tried to cover the bruises covering her face with as much cover as she could but gush wounds were sort of hard to cover with makeup.

She frowned at the stranger still in her closet. He looked a bit better with his color coming back though he was still too pale for her liking but the gush on his forehead seemed better. None of his wounds were bleeding anymore. She grabbed a hoodie and pulled on some jeans before heading to school.

Every one noticed her gush wound but no one noticed the bruises. Guess make up was a good cover up. When they asked about it she told them she fell on a rock and somehow they believed her and she escaped the school with minimal stares. When she got home both her parents were at their jobs and her siblings seemed to have gone somewhere else. She headed up to her room and kicked her shoes off stripping the hoodie and threw it into her closet. She then sat on her bed signing before suddenly realizing her closet doors were open. She jumped up her sore body protesting as she hurried into the closet, her wounded stranger was gone, only the bloody towel was left. She whipped around about to walk out when her closet doors closed, a familiar guy blocking the way out. He glared down at her, his eyes black as he glanced over at her.

Her heart rate sped up at the situation she realized she was in and backed up as the other stepped forward. She noticed that the rope that was tied to his ankles and wrist hung from them, slight bruises formed at the other which didn't have the rope attached to them. She wondered how he'd gotten out of them but she forgot as he spoke, “Who are you?" his voice was deep and there was a hint of growl.

She couldn't help but get a little mad. He shouldn't be the one that's mad and angry. He was the one who had broken her window and gotten her in trouble. She should be the one asking him that. "Who are you?" she spat back after having rallied herself up in anger. She watched his reaction as she looked him over. His hair she now saw came all the way down to his waist, perfectly white blonde hair. His skin seemed so flawless that the battered clothing he wore seemed off with his model like skin. What made her terrified though was his dark, seemingly endless eyes

that watched her intensely.

He seemed to be taken aback and smirked as he glowered at her. "I’m not answering your question. I'm not important...Tell me why didn't you turn me over to the cops?" he asked folding his arms over his chest. She noticed he was wearing the battered shirt and she could smell his horrible scent in the confined space.  She wrinkled her nose in reaction of his smell as she said, "if you aren't answering mine then why should I answer yours.. hmm?" she questioned folding her own arms. Suddenly she heard the familiar sound of her step-dad's car pulling up in the drive way and her heart beat quickened as her eyes widened. She didn't want to deal with her step-dad and this guy’s right now at the same time. She was slightly afraid he was going to try to do something worse to her face too.

The other seemed to notice her fear and turned toward the closet door as if he could see her step-father. "well, well...are we afraid of someone?" he looked back at her something in his eyes showed as he asked, “afraid of the person that gave you those?" he stepped closer his hand cupping her face as he tilted it to the side showing clearly the clean gush on her cheek the make up having worn off alot more. "Your cover doesn’t work so well...” he muttered before she pushed him away fighting to get to the door. She opened them right as the front door opened and slammed shut. She frowned as she quickly turned around pushing the guy back into the closet. "Shut up. You don't know anything...please..just stay here till I come back okay?" she almost begged. He didn't give her any sign that he would stay nor any sign that he was going to go against what she said. She bit her lip and closed the closet doors and hurried down stairs.

He dad was in his business clothing his silver watch on and gelled back hair. He glared at her and spoke firmly, “I’m not coming home tonight. Tell Laura that I'll be out working with my clients and not to stay awake." she nodded making a mental note to tell her mother his message. She couldn't help but sign inwardly though since her mother would always freak out about her husband not being home but at a bar with clients she never knew. She couldn't blame her she didn't trust her step-father either. She didn't think she could trust anyone especially now where she is in her life: a rich family that ignores her being their child, getting beatings from her dad and being a shadow of her perfect siblings. She signed as her dad continued, “You better have cleaned up that mess from last night. I don't want to come and have to look at your stupidity marked on my house." and with that he grabbed a wine bottle from the wine shelf before living, slamming the door.

She locked the door and ran back upstairs to her closet. When she got into her room she was surprised to find her closet doors open, her stranger missing. She frowned when she saw her bedroom window open the cold breeze floating in. She shivered as she walked to her window and closed it, closing the curtains as she muttered to herself, "You could have at least paid for the window...”
