My Lullaby: Chapter Four
It was one week from the Christmas holidays and every student was ready to leave. All the teachers were ready too of course but they had to fight to keep the students silent and quiet until that final bell, but they would always somehow find a way to talk or scream about something.
Amelia wasn’t that glad for the week to be over. School in away with all its boring lectures and homework was an escape for her. She was glad that her bruises had healed over the weekend since she went to a private school. Her hair had to be up in a ponytail and wearing her hoodie last week had gotten her in so much trouble she was still in it.
She sucked on her lip as she sat in detention, the teacher that was supervising them playing softly on the piano that was on the stage in the corner of the room. She glanced around the room at all the people in the room that was in detention with her. She rarely go it and was in a way surprised and not surprised to see the other people in the auditorium with her. There was Terrance, a strawberry blonde junior that was a jokester. He was always doing pranks on the teachers or students always getting caught. There was Marissa, a freshman who had a very bad attitude. She was transfer student and we guessed she wasn’t use to giving so much respect to anyone but herself.
That was about it for that day but usually there was about nine or ten other students in the auditorium and usually they were all sleeping the minutes away. When they were allowed to go and she stepped out of the auditorium, she was greeted by her boyfriend, David.
“Hey baby. Had fun in detention?” She smirked at him answering back, “What do you think?” He chuckled as he took her hand and they began to walk to the lunch room, having fifteen minutes left before their last class of the day.
“I still don’t get why you didn’t just take the hood off. It’s not a big deal you know.” He commented. She smiled at him softly. He didn’t know about her father’s beating especially since it only happened once. Why should she tell him, he’ll just get mad for something that wasn’t worth the time. It's not like it'll happen again right?
“Yeah…I don’t know either. I’ll just keep if off then and stay out of trouble like usual.” She smiled at him and he smiled back before letting her sit down at their lunch table. He sat down next to her as their friends glanced at her. One of her best friends immediately jumped at her, leaning across the table as she exclaimed excitedly, “Have you seen the new guy yet? He’s absolutely drop dead gorgeous!” She smiled before getting hit in the arm by her boyfriend. “Hey! I thought I was drop dead gorgeous.” He pouted and her friend chuckled. “You are Joshie,” She said kissing Josh on the cheek. “This new guy is just different drop dead gorgeous than you.” She smiled playfully at him and he just laughed. “Just don’t cheat on me with this new differently drop dead gorgeous guy okay, Melissa?” She giggled and nodded before coming back to Amelia and exclaiming, “So have you met him yet?”
Amelia shock her head and said, “No..why should I though. I have the most perfectly drop dead gorgeous man here.” She grinned as she looked at David who rolled his eyes at the comment she had made. He certainly was sexy, with the tan brown skin, blondish brown hair that curled shaggily over his head and ocean blue eyes. Oh and no one must forget about those perfectly chiseled muscles under those brand name clothing he wore. “Yes no one can forget about gorgeous David.” Josh rolled his eyes as he spoke before Melissa cut in with laughter, “Yeah I know you think that I hear you but! You haven’t’ seen this type of guy, silent, dark, sexy..hmmm Amelia you have to see him! He is so tasty.” She laughed and so did Amelia. “Geez, his like a piece of candy to you." Amelia joked and suddenly one of their friends who had been listening chimed in, “Hey Melissa, I got a question for ya: Do we guys always seem so tasty?” He cracked up at his own joke and so did David and Josh.
