Minki's POV
Why do I get a feeling of déja vu?
We, the Nu'est trainees, were leaning on one side of the hallway of a kareoke place...across from a group of girls who were leaning on the other wall. Mr. Han hadn't arrived yet, and we were awkwardly standing across from each other.
For some reason, Mr. Han wanted us in a kareoke room...once again. And he wasn't even here. For a few weeks, my persona of Ren has been going really well. In fact, no one's found out I was actually Minki yet! And even though people still tried to get close to me, I was able to scare them away with my personality.
"Why did Mr. Han-shii do this to us!! This is SO AWKWARD!!" Baekho whined quietly, trying to not let the girls on the other side hear. A girl giggled, showing that she had heard his comment.
"I know right? The least he could do was be here!" she grinned. "What's your name? You're so cute!!! I'm Song Ju Hee!"
"Anyeong~ I'm Baekho!" Baekho bowed.
"Wah! You look so young! How old are you?" another girl asked.
"Seventeen," Baekho answered.
"Aww!! Only Yooyoung's as young as you guys! Too bad, you guys are so cute! The rest of us are your noonas! You can call me Yoonjo Noona!" she smiled warmly.
"Well, I'm actually 19," Aaron coughed.
"Really?! YAY!! Someone who's my age!" Yoonjo squealed.
"And my age too," another girl nonchalently added. "I'm Hyelim," she smiled slightly.
"Aaron," Aaron introduced himself. The girl to the right of Yoonjo tugged on her sleeve and whispered into her ear. Yoonjo chuckled.
"Yooyoung wants to know who the rest of you are!" she looked at the rest of us. So that quiet girl is Yooyoung? She was everything I wish I could've been. She was slight, curvy, and girly. And what was I? Hm....tall like a tower, flat as a board, and as manly as a gangster.
We introduced ourselves one by one. I noticed how Yooyoung blushed when Minhyun introduced himself. Then the rest of the girl crew introduced themselves. Apparently, they were already in their twenty's. We chatted for some time, and after ten more minutes, Mr. Han FINALLY came.
"Oh, hey everyone! You all came really early!" he greeted us. No, you came a whole hour late. I could've finished my homework!! We all looked at each other exasperated.
"What time did you want us to come?" Jonghyun asked.
"5:00, right?" Mr. Han asked.
"It's 6:00 now," Na Ra muttered.
"Anyways, let's go inside the room now! You don't have to wait for me, you know!" Mr. Han ushered us inside the room. "So, Hello Venus trainees, these are the Nu'est trainees. Nu'est trainees, these are the Hello Venus trainees. Now everyone introduce yourself."
"We already did," Minhyun replied.
Mr. Han blushed, and then announced, "Then go have some bonding time!"
Despite the awkward comment, Yooyoung wasted no time and make a beeline to Minhyun, who had turned around to talk to me.
"Excuse me. You're Minhyun, right?" she battered her eyelashes. Minhyun looked at me, expecting me to decifer the meaning this girl was trying to get across. Unfortunately, he forgot I've hung out in the guy world for way too long. I shurgged my shoulders.
"Uh, and you're Yooyoung, right?" he answered hesitantly. She nodded delightedly. What about me? Why didn't she ask me about who I was?!
"And I'm R-" I was about to introduce myself again.
"Do you want to sing a song together?" Yooyoung tried to use aegyo on MInhyun, ingnoring me.
"Uh, it's okay...Actually, Ren and I had already decided to sing together," Minhyun chuckled nervously. Yooyoung turned to me for the first time, and seemed to be surprised that I actually existed.
"Hey! I didn't see you! You're name is Ren? That's a funny name," she smirked. Okay, this girl was obviously a two-faced fake. I pretended to see her for the first time too.
"Eh? Who are you again? I wasn't listening," I looked at her like she was an ant. She was shaking in fury, as Minhyun and I went to go find a song and meet up with everyone else.
I unconciously scowled, thinking about how rude this girl was.
"Ren, you're face is turning ugly. You need to smile!" Minhyun swung an arm around me, and pulling both of my cheeks in an attempt to make me smile.
"She pisses me off so much!! And I've only known her for an hour!! Is that even possible?" I growled. We chilled out on the couch, watching people socialize. That Yooyoung hopped from person to person like a butterfly. Actually, let me correct that, because she's NOTHING like a butterfly. In fact, she hopped from person to person like a grasshopper!
A few minutes later, Jonghyun walked into our conversation.
"What are you guys talking about? You should talk to the noonas, they're really nice! And Yooyoung's really cute," he grinned. Obviously he fell under her spell. I huffed and ignored him.
"Ren, are you alright?" Jonghyun looked at me quizzically.
"He's kind of in a fit at this moment," Minhyun sighed. I kicked him in the shin.
"Dude! That hurt! What did I do?!" Minhyun howled in pain. Actually, he did nothing. I was just being a pouty spoiled person. There are going to be people in this world who are even worse than that b!tch, and I'll have to get used to it.
"You're right, Jonghyun. Why aren't we talking to the noonas?!" I got up.
"I thought-" Minhyun tried to say something, even though he was confused.
"Let's go talk to Hyelim noona. She looks really cool," I walked off into the crowd.

Yooyoung's POV
Yooyoung glanced over at the Ren and Minhyun pair. It was almost as if they were a couple, except they were both guys. There was a possibility that Ren was gay and liked Minhyun, and that's why he stuck to Minhyun like glue (she refused to believe Minhyun could've been gay). Sure, Ren was tall, almost as tall as Minhyun, and was pretty, prettier than most girls she'd seen. But there was a weird aura around Ren that just made her feel that there was more to Ren that meeted the eye. Maybe it was his calm, sleepy, cool personality combined with the sassy walk of his. And these qualities made her want to keep her distance. But even with all the good qualities, Ren didn't compare to Minhyun in her eye at all.
Minhyun had everything she wanted in a guy. First of all, he was the tallest boy she'd ever seen. Second of all, he had short hair, unlike Ren's midlength hair, and he had a solemn look in his eye. The way he protectively stayed with Ren made her envious of Ren. She couldn't wait to switch places with Ren. Third of all, she actually noticed him. Lee Yooyoung doesn't notice everyone. In fact, only she herself existed in her world 95% of the time. The other 5% was filled with hot guys, such as Minhyun. She would've never looked at Ren if Minhyun hadn't followed Ren and followed her instead. She hadn't even given the other guys a single glance.
Sure, she pretended to be happy to meet them, but the second the conversations with the other guys ended, they were immediately erased from her mind.
She glanced over at Ren and Minhyun again. They were still sprawled on that couch, looking like models. Minhyun's shoulder was leaned against Ren's, and the two were deep in conversation. Minhyun would sometimes laugh while Ren seemed to be ranting and complaining.
And that resentment for Ren in her heart grew more and more as the night went on.
